Maine and Seattle continue to hold the 1-2 spot this week while Pawtucket had a big 5-1 week with a sweep of Pittsburgh to move all the way up to #3. The Patriots are now 14-4 in the month of May and only two games back of Maine for the Ale lead. Meanwhile Hartford posted a 6.23 ERA for the week and went 0-6. After a winning April they are now five games under for the month May. The biggest surprise of the week thought was Phoenix welcoming in the Bats and sweeping them at home. It looks like the Roadrunners are turning the corner towards future success.

Performance of the Week
RF Tom 'Cookie' Clark, BAL - On May 19th against Washington, Cookie had a huge game in what unfortunately went down as a 11-8 loss for the Bulldogs. In five at bats he had three hits, two walks, two home runs, three runs batted in and stole a base. On the year Clark is hitting .351 with 10 HR's and 26 RBI's and was named POTW.
Injury of the Week
P Efren 'Jet' Prestianni, CAL - The former 1st overall pick in 2026 was having a huge season as he took his 6-0 record to Windy City on May 17th. He got through five innings with seven strikeouts and only one earned run before feeling a pop in his back after giving up a single to start the sixth. An MRI showed he has a herniated disk in his back and will be out for 2-3 months. Efren still got the win and moved to 7-0 with a 1.29 ERA on the year, tops in the entire league for both categories, but boy was it a costly one.
Prospect of the Week
P Sheldon 'Weasel' Martin - The 2029 NCAA Outstanding Pitcher winner was picked #3 overall this year by the Carolina Tobs and looks to have a bright future. He has four pitches including a fastball that gets near 100 MPH and last year was 5-0 with a 1.56 ERA in 11 starts. This season he went down with a herniated disk in his neck and has only had three starts though. Scouts say he is very intelligent and "is able to captivate his audience." We're not sure if he does magic on the side but whatever it is we're captivated.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. That rough week by Hartford was partly due to two walk off extra inning losses to Wilmington. On May 17th Tom Mare hit a double in the 14th which scored Dave Hudson. This was after Wilmington scored three in the bottom of the 9th to tie it. On May 19th Wilmington scored three in the 8th and two in the 9th to tie it. Then Jaime Rush scored on a passed ball in the 11th to win it.
2. Hot and cold. In his last 36 at bats Jaylin Richardson of Washington is hitting .389 with 6 HR's and 10 RBI's. In his last 42 at bats J.R. Rhoads of Los Angeles is hitting .048 with 18 strikeouts.
3. Young Guns. There is only player on the Top Batters list that is over 30...Mike Morla. The average age of the other 19 players is 26.3 years old. Meanwhile on the pitching side 11 of the 20 are over the age of 30 and the average age of the entire group is 30.8 years old. The old man of the group is 39 year old Pat Goldsmith who just keeps on going strong. He's thrown two shutouts this year to give him 19 in his career, tied for 2nd all-time behind Teagan Corrigan's record of 29.
4. There are a few catchers this season that teams are just loving to test. Hartford's Josh Carter (38 SBA), California's Tony Solorio (36 SBA), SDRR's Ian James (31 SBA), and Toronto's Tom Leslie (30 SBA) lead the way. Solorio has only thrown out six of those runners and his 16.7 RTO percentage is at the bottom of the league. Then there is Wilmington's Michah Gordon and Montreal's Jamie Bisbee. Gordon's been tested 15 times and thrown out 7 while Bisbee's been run on 21 times and tossed out 9.
5. So you're telling me there is a shot...unless you are Batavia. According to the number crunchers everyone but the Red Jackets have a chance to make the postseason. On the other end of the spectrum Maine is at 100% and might as well start resting their starters.
