Ok, here's the deal. Previous posts had referred to a "hard cap" of 53 players during the regular season. That's not entirely true. Due to the way the game works, if a player gets hurt and you need to sign a replacement, you'll need to extend several offers for the midweek sim in case the players you're targeting are signed by other teams. If they're not, you could end up signing too many players, thus putting you over 53.
So, during any midweek sim, you may go over 53 players if you like. However, you MUST get back down to the 53/46 numbers for the game sim, otherwise the game will make decisions about who to cut from your roster to get you back within the legal roster limit.
