(25) Derrick Schwartz (WLB) 30/55 - Last year was Dakota's first season in the 3-4, and Rich Johnstone was signed as a free agent, on the cheap, to be their primary pass rusher. Despite his affinity with the defensive leaders, he failed to set the world on fire. Nicknamed "The Hebrew Hammer", Schwartz is fast and strong and could be starting on day one if his camp goes well enough.
(32) Pat "Jelly" Donaghy (WR) 29/43 - Roy Parrish is getting old, and despite the fact that TE Nathan Garrett (another aging Totem) helps make a productive passing attack, inconsistency and injury have plagued the receiving corps. Pat Donaghy will hopefully be the receiver that Grant Giefeke has failed to become - a consistent deep threat. He received his nickname when he covered the walls of his childhood home in grape jelly. He was never allowed to prepare food again.
(28) J.B. Trotter (HB) 36/56 - Aging superstar and all time leading rusher for the Totems, Sherdrick Allen, was allowed to leave for the veteran minimum. The only remaining backs are the inconsistent Brad "Nanny" MacPhee and last year's 3rd round pick, Rob Wickes, who disappointed in training camp and blew out his knee in week 6. With the Totems in "win now" mode, more depth was required at the RB position. The Totems reportedly coveted Bruce Rodriguez, but still managed to snag a quality prospect with Trotter, who was amazingly the seventh HB chosen in a deep running back class.
(26) Shawn McGregor (DE) 23/28 - McGregor missed the combine while completing his missionary work in Angola, where he single handedly built a windmill in addition to proselytizing. He is a physically powerful specimen who specialized in rushing the QB in college. He projects as a situational pass rusher in the pros. If he pans out he will fill the role Duane Sell played the past two seasons in Dakota.
(25) Kyle Warren (FS) 8/26 - Warren is a smallish safety who the Totems believe can excel in coverage. He'll have time to grow at his position, as the Totems currently have three quality safeties on the roster, including star Roosevelt Dunn.
(28) Wesley Gomez (WR) 17/28 - Gomez has speed and showed a penchant for the big play in college, but he lacks the polish of a pro receiver. The Totems biggest weakness is at WR, and it speaks volumes that they spent two draft picks, including another first round pick, a year after drafting the disappointing Moe Zimmerman.
