From 1980 to 1990 Villazon had a 430 VORP. One All-Star. Two rings. He was one of the best starters in baseball for a decade.Originally posted by Clay View Post130 wins and one All-Star game in 14 seasons? You, my friend, are a crack baby.

Two rings, an All-Star and 3 DWIs (at the deepest position in the BLB) in 6 seasons. He's 28, has 4 straight 100+ BB seasons and his OBP is a scratch under .400. He's already better than Villazon with 60% of the sample size.Originally posted by Pat View PostFrom 1980 to 1990 Villazon had a 430 VORP. One All-Star. Two rings. The Zon had eight seasons with 30+ VORP. That doesn't include the three 20+ VORP seasons that were cut short due to six-man rotations and injuries.Originally posted by Clay View PostTwo rings, an All-Star and 3 DWIs (at the deepest position in the BLB) in 6 seasons. Philips has three 30+ VORP years and he plays in the deepest IL lineup, dare I day, of All-Time?
It's close but Villazon has to be the greatest Rule V....just ask Jistic.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Meh... you can't compare VORP for an SP and a C (again the deepest position in the BLB). Villazon was lucky to scratch the top 10 at his position in his best year. Phillips is the second best Catcher in the BLB right now (I'll give Kubota #1... but Phillips was better last season). Phillips is 28 and will certainly be the no brainer pick a few years from now. But I think he already is today. Hell, Villazon is sitting in AAA at 38.Originally posted by Pat View PostThe Zon had eight seasons with 30+ VORP. Well, we're going to have to talk about that amongst the owners. He technically didn't have a career ending injury (which we adjust)... he was injured and chose to retire. By rule, we edit CAREER ENDING INJURIES.
Thoughts anyone?The Great One!

He didn't just choose to retire. The newstory is just fluff to put something behind the game's decision. He had a career-ending setback. That's been edited for me before.
From the Injury Report:
Tuesday, December 21st, 1993
Los Lunas Javelinas: Pepe Sánchez has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury. He has elected to retire rather than continue his rehabilitation. This is a CAREER ENDING injury!
Though, I will warn Los Lunas that it probably doesn't matter. I've yet to see a guy come back anywhere close to 50% of his ability after suffering such an injury. They are pretty much minor league crap after this.Last edited by Carlos; 07-01-2011, 07:50 AM.Denver Bulls

Yeah...I'm probably biased. It just seemed during the D.C. glory years, if you ran into Chavarraga, Gonzo and then Villazon....well, good luck.Originally posted by Sully View PostVillazon was a nice find, but one of the best pitchers int he BLB for a decade?
