I've never noticed a difference, even changing guys from position players to pitchers. You should be fine.

I've had that happen with some of my kids. Premadonnas. Would using the "force start at position" option still give the player experience fielding?

Yes. CF Ron Adams- AAA, Dusty Simmons and Todd Burley gave me problems changing positions. Adams was the worst of them. He would go straight to angry when I changed him.

Yeah, I made Adams a RF and he freaked. Organizational depth and OSA standings I could see playing a part in Simmons and Burley. Adams was a curiosity since he was never highly rated by anyone.
