The draft seems to move so much quicker when you don't have an early pick.
I don't have have to watch the pot boil I guess.

If you are talking about my Olsen pick and not the pitcher, I agree. My scout has him rated two points over OSA for Contact and Power and one point for eye. Had him at 15 on my draft board so that is why I sent Reyes to Cali to get him. Wasn't going to resign Reyes.Originally posted by tomr1962 View PostLiked Olsen for my next pick. Barring any rash of injuries or meltdown (which is sure to happen since I am posting this) I probably only lose 3-5 spots in next year's draft with this trade. I had someone in mind to draft when I asked for the trade but I'd like to get home to make sure I'm not missing out on anyone else first. Gimme about 1 hr and 15 to get home and take a peek in-game.
I appreciate your patience, unless your screen name is Spot.

I have a formula and it works pretty well- my park is built for pitchers like this. Powell has the exact same potential as Norm Sutton so I'll be happy if he comes close to reaching that potential. While I'd love a hard throwing ace like Don Leonard was pre-injury, I have to settle. Of the starters left at my pick, he was the only one I was comfortable taking. Curious to see what will be available in Round 2.Originally posted by funclown View PostWow, Pat Powell really fits the Miss "put the ball in the air, but never walk anybody " mentality.

And with the #26 pick in the draft, the Bulldogs select:

Dave Doggett (CL)
Lincoln, CA
-Highest potential player in the draft (according to my scout), 3 plus pitches, and with a 100+mph FB, he will fit right in in Baltimore. Very talented, but it will be up to our coaches to see if we can get enough progress to make him a big league starter. His stamina, work ethic, and intelligence is questionable, but there is a clear upside to him and I just couldn't pass that up.Last edited by Delandis; 01-24-2013, 09:01 PM.
