There is a method to the madness. I've watched many teams with budgets as as mine over the years lose their big budget because the crashed the whip. Every one is entitled to run their team as they seem fit, i jus feel like in a game like baseball with a 162 game season luck tends to be removed the equation.

Oh I was just asking really. My budget will take a knock this season after years of steady increases. I fooled the fans long enough. My payroll will be very low next season so the fall is justfied, but won't hurt my team in anyway shape or form.Originally posted by Delandis View PostThere is a method to the madness. I did it to try and bolster development at the lower levels as quickly as I can. A necessary requirement to develop subpar talent. If I blow it up I won't have to worry about money anyway. I just signed three new coaches for this very reason. I'm not 100% it totally works but at least I feel like I'm giving kids every opportunity to develop. I think the league average is somewhere around 7-8M though. My scouting budget compensates for this as we are probably 3-4M under the league average.Originally posted by Clay View PostYou have a $117 budget.... among the top half of the league. You have the 2nd highest payroll due in part to $12+ in staff expenses. You spend almost $3.0 per season just on Single A personnel. I'm not telling you how to run your team, I'm just stating the fact that blowing it up takes your budget backwards.L.A. Dinos GM since '94

My point is any shortage of funds is self-induced...for anyone.Originally posted by Jimmy View PostI did it to try and bolster development at the lower levels as quickly as I can. Lets talk about me.
Depending on how much my budget is cut next year, I may have the option to release Kel Brown and not go into the red.
Still deciding if I do that instead of using that $50 MM on players in free agency.
I guess it depends on the demands because there's no benefit to giving someone $20 MM. No interest in that.
If I could actually scoop up some good players for $50 MM total at very reasonable contract lengths (say just at the point I get my first round picks back) then I should do that, no?
If I can win a few more games, I can attract more fans, raise ticket prices, and get some budget increases.
At this pace, my budget is gonna crash.
Otherwise, I'm just eating money. I guess I could spread that money to my development and scouting budget.
Decisions.
