Congrats to *Jerry Davis for his first All-Star appearance. The 3rd round pick out of Texas in 1993 caused some debate during the draft that year when BLB's own Mel Kiper sounded off..
Jerry Davis was one of the few players I actually still have on my list. My scout thinks he has an average bat, "no power whatsoever," "poor plate discipline," and he's an upright runner who is "not particularly fluid" on the basepaths.
Great pick. I really think you got a steal here. I'm sure he will be a fixture at the top of your single- and double-A lineups for years.
Davis not only made the All Star game, but he's currently third in the IL batting race. The only downside is that he has to travel to Pawtucket for the game.
*Please note Jerry Davis will be making his appearance on the Windy City trade block very soon.
