Scout
Well let's see how much my scout is worth?!
He had Tripp rated as an 8 for power. Here's hoping he comes close to that potential.GM California Kodiaks 2014 - Present

Tripp was a guy I was talking about earlier. My scout sees him as a huge power bat, just raves about him in the scouting report. OSA isn't anywhere close to where my scout is. Had a big first year, but nothing special in the past two. Still, I might have taken a shot on him at 2.13 if he was still on the board.Washington Bats, 2013-

Tripp intrigued my scout, though not to the level of your scouts, apparently.Maine Guides

Got home and now I see why I picked Witt.
Looking at his stats, I think that his patience at the plate is real and my scout thinks he's better offensively, and much better defensively than advertised by OSA.Last edited by Delandis; 01-24-2016, 06:50 PM.

Was a last hour addition, my scout likes him more than OSA but his stats are very good, let's see if he matches his scout projectionOriginally posted by TheLetterZ View PostI like the Lujan selection for Dallas. He was on my list.

Struggled with that selection, as most of the guys I still liked came off the board since the last time I picked.
Ended up going with Dave Koehler, a High School SP. Not thrilled about it, but both my scout and OSA give him a 7 for control (5-4-7). He's put up some good strikeout numbers in high school, so I'm hoping his stuff will progress. Or his movement. Something. He's also got decent ratings for a 17 year old.Washington Bats, 2013-

Went with Ron Blankenship C with this pick. Decided to go Gardner over Tripp with the last pick since there were a few C remaining that I liked. Ended up getting my number 2 target with Blankenship.
Got another pick coming up and I won't make it until I get home tonight.

What Could Have Been
I struggled between Tripp and Koehler. I guess I should have went the other way around. I was hoping to get both this round. Not sure that is good for you, that we had the same thoughts. I found the control 7 to be very intriguing.GM California Kodiaks 2014 - Present

It looks like he did pretty well last year (even in the later rounds), so I'm going to trust his judgement.Originally posted by TheLetterZ View PostDelandis must really trust his scout.Last edited by Delandis; 01-24-2016, 09:08 PM.

Using a second round pick on a guy OSA rates as 2 contact potential and who hit .239 as a bench player in high school looks like an enormous vote of confidence in your scout.Originally posted by Delandis View PostIt looks like he did pretty well last year, so I'm going to trust his judgement.Maine Guides

Well, at least there's 2 of us on the same page. If you had gone the other way, I probably would have gone with Tripp, since my scout is so high on him.Originally posted by PaulC View PostI struggled between Tripp and Koehler. Went with Koehler primarily because of that 7 control. I didn't see any obvious BLB starting caliber players on the board, and he has one elite skill. Worth a shot.Washington Bats, 2013-
