Scouting above 10 million really what insight are you gonna get??? Its not like we are on a 1-250 pt scale here.

Its just an idea, nothing more.

Brad is better then me on this , but here is what Toronto did (no judgement just using the best data was have)

    98.3 in revenue
    32 million on total expenses.
    71.3 on PD & Scouting

Then proceeds to lose 5 million dollars. To be thats just not right either.

Kind of makes me wish we did have Intl complex to give people something to throw money at and encourages "rebuilding" teams to keep at least 10 million on hand for signing bonuses IMO.
btw. not suggesting any rule proposal. its just a discussion.

For Death Valley, one. Just one player, RF J.P. Knappe, was drafted by the organization.

Don't feed the beasts this off-season.
Someday I'm gonna try the "homegrown" approach. Its just so hard to draft all the right spots and sometimes draft classes just don't time out right.

Are we able to include what a rebuilding team throws into Player Development and Scouting into that floor? A portion of it?

Looks good on the balance sheet for fiscal 2016, but then 2017 comes rolling out you lose basically all of it. Nice learning lesson. Almost promotes if your gonna be bad, build your minors, don't invest in your BLB team, sit back and get paid.

Was torn , really would of been good with UMD winning it so I just didn't know how to feel.

Great year UMD(Again), the good news for you is your always going to be throwing your hat in the ring with your deep organization you built. No worries there. I know you don't want to hear this but yes you will someday take the Cup home.

As for Pawtucket.....I would say the deals for OF Sanchez, RP Burrows and SP Salzman without giving up very much was the key to this season. Understanding we have a core group you still need the right fit players and everything just went right. Lol, perhaps being away from the league 1.5 seasons brought a little focus?

Now for 2017...... been a very very very good run and from here on out this decade anything else is simply gravy. That does NOT mean we crash and rebuild as we continue to try to increase our overall team history %, but with all the core players now 30+ (Except Mcdade) losing another top player in Haraguchi to free agency were going to have to be very smart with our trades. We will have some money for free agency coming up especially with a deal lurking and the $5 million bonus, but it won't be enough to land an impact player more less fit players like 2B Ortiz or maybe a middle RP. Looking at my roster, its HEAVY a trade based team especially with pitching:

    Pitchers

Robillard, Reeves, Salzman, Morikawa, Pearsall, Burrows

    Hitters

    Herrington, Sanchez, Mason, Haraguchi

Whatever happens, its going to be fun! Glad to be back.
