    It's still saying something.

Pretty excited about this upcoming season, our first in Phoenix.

C - Blackham/Johnson - should split time here. One better offensively, one better defensively.
      1b -Colgate
      2b - Day
      SS - Antonietti
      3b - Decker
      LF - Kane
      CF - Black
      RF - Chandler

      SP - Harmony
      SP - Stone
      SP - Glomski
      SP - Thompson
      SP - Mosquea

The bullpen might be our weakness, though we should be better this year. McCormick sliders in there with an improved McCarthy and Kurtz, plus we added Chandler. We moved Kane to LF, opting to have Gil Mullins come off the bench. This slots Dusty Black in CF, and gives us one of the best defensive OFs in the BLB. Day and Antonietti in the middle IF has the makings of something special given their age. We will start with Pat Decker at 3b, but may be willing to take a slight defensive hit with Kevin Langford if he performs like he should at AAA.

Our starting rotation is solid, and might be 2nd to only Washington in the IL. The key is keeping everyone healthy. If Mosquea struggles, we have Kinkaid able to step in (2.88 ERA last year as a starter).

        Tough one.

Outside of several injuries to his arms and shoulders that devastated his development and power, he was being promoted for no reason.

He showed improvement in A ball from his age 21 to 22 season. But he wasn't there yet. So he got bumped to AA?

He struggled even more in AA. So next year, he got bumped to AAA???

I think he was set for disaster due to impatience. The injuries didn't help which likely led to more impatience. And it was Wilmington. We know the story there.

          New era in Batavia.

          2B - Tom 'Ironfist' Berger - 5th round pick in 2018
          3B - Alex Aymond - 6th round pick in 2018
SS - Colin Carter - 2nd round pick in 2017

With a few guys gone and some extra money we were able to offer C Zach Folwer a 4 year/$19m per year contract this week. So our core for the next few years will be Fowler, Frederick, and Ackers. We are also excited about OFs Dave Miller (3.2018) and Guerrero (1.2018) and 3B Pat 'Boomarang' Barker (UDFA.2018).

Overall we might not be a .500 team. Definitely a step back as we experience some growing pains and get our budget back on track. We made a push the last 5 seasons or so and it never panned out banner wise. Time to reload.
