I realize the 9th round isn't terribly exciting to talk about, but I'm curious what people think of P Dave 'The Wolf' Pruitt that Pat took right before I planned on taking him. I had this guy on top of my list for a couple rounds, but his 88-90 Mph pitching speed deterred me every time. The guy hadn't gained any speed in a number of years and I was wondering if he ever would?

88-90 Mph is not gonna cut it in the big leagues, let alone AAA, right?

Fantastic nickname, first of all.

He's still young enough that he could add a little more velocity, but I wouldn't expect him to do more than maybe touch the mid-90s.

He looks like a left-handed specialist to me. He doesn't have a pitching repertoire that should allow him to pitch effectively against right-handed hitters.

If you can get a worthwhile left-handed specialist—with an awesome nickname to boot—in the ninth round, I think you're doing fine.
