  • SIM COMPLETE - 1979 - Sim 21

7-0 for the Guides, with a 10 game winning streak. I opened up another 4 games in the division which all but wraps it up.

    - Rosters expand to 40 until the end of the regular season. This should give teams who are out of contention something to pay attention to, so get back in the habit of exporting guys.

Nelson's on fire but I can only manage 4-3 weeks and this week I LOST A GAME TO THE LEADER!

Wilmington is threatening to make this a one-horse race.

I might make Cade Roberts a spot starter on my BLB team, just to see how he does against good competition.

3-3 this week. Lost my lead, but only a game back. The good news is we have 4 against Davenport this week.

I'd like to give some props to little known 4th starter Hermoso Cobellan.

This guy was on the trade block last year, but never got any real good offers. Also was thrown around a little this year in trade talks. Once Lorral was traded he stepped up big time.

He's the pitcher of the month in the IL going 5-1 with a 1.74 ERA. Overall he's 13-6 with a 2.75 ERA for the season. Not bad for a 4th starter that spent the first three months in the bullpen and spot starting.

Glad we held on to him!

              Terrible. Now 7.5 games back.

If we fall back any further after this next sim, its time to see what the kids can do.

In the past two weeks my CF, RF (my two best hitters) both went down and are done for the season, and I lost my #3 starter 3-4 weeks.

Damn, just realized that David Rumsey won his 3rd pitcher of the month award. Too bad Jerry Dean is still having a better overall year than him :(

Well, we did lose 2 games to our rivals, but we still have a 2 game lead. Went 4-2 on the sim. We wrapped up our second 19 win month of the season, and are ready for the stretch.

                    L. Carillo is continuing his outstanding play since entering the majors. He's hitting .356 with a .434 OBP and 17 RBI in 18 games. This guys is a run producing beast!

                    D. Guardamangi is still making his case for DL Pitcher of the Year. He's 2nd in ERA, 3rd in wins, and 4th in K's!

Tough week ahead with 3 games against the streaking Maine Guides, followed by a 4 game set with Denver who is only 6 games out.

                    It's going to be intersting!!!!

We still have another month to see what our young guys can show us, so our season isn't over yet either. I'm giving Coera one last shot at third, I'm hoping he seizes it.
