14 games below .500 and only 5 out of the last WC.

        The IL sucks.

Pretty good week for the Bats to finish off what was a very good month. We went on the road to sweep Seattle in a series that included a 2-hit shutout by Pat Arballo followed by a comeback from a 9-0 deficit in the second game. The week ended with a split of 4 games in Philadelphia. Anytime we can go 5-2 on the road, I'll happily take it. We finished August with a 23-6 record.

In the minors, the AAA Richmond Rams won their 9th championship. At A level, Eugene was not able to repeat as champion, losing their title series. With rosters expanded, some of those guys from Richmond will join the big club. I don't know that any of them are exciting prospects, but they'll provide some depth. Maybe one of them will surprise in the same way that Tom Vaughn has this year. He continues to be brilliant, something I never expected.
