    Thanks Brad!

Seattle lost the series at Philadelphia (1-2) but went on to win hosting New York (3-1). The Pilots sit atop the Bock division at 14-12, with four teams within 2.5 games.

After making a few tweaks to the lineup, we seemed to score a few more runs when it mattered. Two hitters are on fire: CF Tom Stark had a two home run game and 1B Fitzpatrick Fisher raised his OPS from .814 to .986 in just over a week. The batters will keep us in most games and should finish as one of the higher scoring teams in the IL.

As for the pitching... AJ Ingle had another walk off loss to Philly. He's now 0-4, with three blown saves, 9.00 ERA, 1.82 WHIP and -0.3 WAR. I'm really hoping it's just an early season funk because the 39-year-old is going to be the key to our bullpen. In the rotation we got two good starts in a row from Mike "VP" Ponce: 12.1 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 2-0. I don't expect him to keep this up but we are still trying to figure out who even our 3rd best SP is behind Hamada and Ley, and Ponce might be the guy.

I tried to stack my offense in hopes that they could cover for each other during slumps. Forgot to plan for what happens when they all slump.

4-1 for the Bats in our weird 5-game week. Swept Windy City in 2 games, then won 2 of 3 against California.

Good week at the plate - we hit .333 as a team with a .916 OPS. We're a very different offensive team so far this season. Last year we led the BLB in HR's, while right now we're tied for 8th in the IL in that category. But, we lead the IL in AVG and OBP, and I think some of my good contact hitters might fare better in my home ballpark. So far, it's working, with Erwijn de Jong leading the way with an IL best .360 batting average. Of course, it would be nice if my best returning HR hitter (Dave Davidson) would realize that the season has begun. My two backup outfielders have both been terrible so far, so I'll probably be looking for a 4th OF type of player very soon, if you've got someone.

On the mound, Jamie Breed is off to a great start with a 1.51 ERA through 5 starts. Out in the bullpen, the only two guys who see extensive use are Fenech and Chao and they are both doing pretty well. I'll need to have some other guys pitch well at some point, but I'm not really sure who that's going to be.

We are sitting at 0.500... Our offence is still trying to find its way... We have not scored nearly as many runs as I'd hoped, which is a shame, because our pitching is likely performing about as well as its capable of... Our schedule so far has been rough, as our opponents are 30 games above 0.500... Hopefully that starts to even out.
