Doesn't Pittsburgh have a first baseman that's been pretty good? I can't remember his name, but I know he's kind of a pussy that can't hit for power.

Nope. No DH. Committee decided that the samples size of players that played exclusively DH would have been too small and it would have really penalized guys who played a percentage of their seasons in the IL.

Players weren't ranked like that. Making the team is an honor in itself, it shouldn't really matter if they're a starter or a bench player.
