I'm against it. But I like the idea of being able to trade draft picks.

Cam, what do you think of having the coaches/scouts etc have a different ratings scale than the players?

I know we're doing 2-8 for the players. But I think maybe at least a 1-10 for the other personell.

Scouts will be off in the online league. The reason for this is because you would be able to view ratings from another team's scouting view. I havn't decided on coaches yet, but I'm leaning towards turning them off. I think they're more trouble than they're worth in online leagues.

Cool. The one thing I think might be cool is that we can at least set our main scouts OVerall Roster strategy with sliders. This at least could give us a little control over our initial draft.

After playing around with it, I think the scouts exploit no longer exists. It looks like you can only view things as your team.

However, scouts add a completely new level of complexity which I'm not sure is a smart idea given the experience level of most of the Owners in this league.

My initial stance would be to have the scouting system and coaching system turned off for year 1 of our league, then we can revisit them in the future.

I'll test to see what effect those sliders have on the draft, if any.

I don't have the online league experience you do, so I'll defer to your expertise. It seemed harmless though.

No, but that's an option only available when scouts are enabled, which I don't want to do. I could enable scouts to start, have people tweak those settings, run the draft, then disable scouts, but I want to make sure it actually affects the draft before doing so.

I can't figure out how to edit those tendencies.

EDIT - Ok, I figured out a place to change those sliders on the team strategy page, but after running a couple drafts I really don't think it has an effect. I had teams favor pitching prospects, hitting prospects, pitching veterans and hitting veterans and none seem to have drafted according to those tendencies.

I don't know how to edit the silders for the actual personel. They seem 'locked'.

However, you can go into the overall TEAM strategy from the Team page and edit some basic roster strategies.

Draft picks will definitely be tradeable. I'm not totally against compensation for lost FAs either, but we'll see what others have to say.
