      Since we're all starting on an level playing field when it comes to finances, compensation rewards owners who are not fically responsible. If they can't afford their own F/A, or they don't want to pay for them, they shouldn't be rewarded with a 1st round draft pick IMO.

      The rule offers relief for small market teams, of which we are all the same to start with.

        Unfortunately, that might not be the case. Due to variations in the initial draft, teams payrolls can be quite a bit different. The game sets its initial finances based on these payrolls to ensure all teams will make a profit. I'm trying to figure out a way to start on a level playing field in terms of markets, but it might not be possible.

        Create a quick league, sim to the end of the regular season and take a look at each team's front office page and you'll see what I mean.
