FWIW, it looks like the Sergio Lumar trade isn't as great as I thought. Ray Royal took a pretty significant drop in his potentials :(

The new version of OOTP altered the potentials of a lot of players. I guess there's really no good time to upgrade, but it's kind of a shame that guys you were counting on now suddenly aren't good anymore due to the new aging and player deterioration modeling in the game.

Well, Royal's potential drop just happened this sim, so it wasn't related.

I didn't see a whole lot of core ratings drop, just a bunch of OVR/POT ratings drop, and we all know that those aren't worth much anyway

03-12-1981 Injured (strained back muscle), out for one week.
03-23-1981 Was traded by the California Wildfire to the Los Lunas Javelinas, along with SS J. Blaine, a 3rd draft pick, a 6th draft pick, in exchange for RF J. Lakin, SP K. Carpenter, 2B J. Ballestero, 1B B. Creel.

So he was playing as well before the trade.
