Nice to have Greene and Poole locked up for the next half decade. Murillo turned down his extension and by the looks of his performance over the past month, I'm not sure who should be more relieved.
Denver probably should have traded Albert Sanchez when it had the chance. Hind sight: 20-20.
3-3, swept Wilmington, swept by Virginia. All-in-all not a bad week. Offense produced 8 SB's without a CS. That's one of our most productive week's on the basepaths in recent club history. Our offense is dreadful, but we knew it would be so we're ok with that.
Pitching was decent minus a couple of performances. Doug Miles continues to lead the league in ERA and is finally picking up some W's to go with his performances. Sadao Yoshino turned in his 3rd good start in a row (7IP | 2ER | 6K) but received a no decision. Ivan Perez is 1-0 | 1.93 ERA | .86 WHIP in 14 IP over 2 GS since coming over from Dallas. I think he's a much better IL pitcher and we're happy to have signed him to a very reasonable 2 year extension last SIM.
We're 2 games above .500 almost halfway through the year. No better, but no worse than was expected.
Almost expected this week to be .500. Indy wanted revenge for the sweep and took 2 of 3. Handled the Dinos, but starting Raul twice this week backfired. Worth a try. Alonzo Gugierrez playing out of skull right now. My gut tells me he retires after this season.
As for hitting, nice to see Hector G starting to come alive. Samuel still concerns me though he proving to be a decent power hitter.
18-7 June so not complaining. We will deal with Pittsburgh soon enough.

Hate seeing talented players get hurt regardless of team they're on.
Agreed. It hasn't happened yet bc we are still so young but I'm dreading the days I look over the retired list and I start to ask "what if he didn't get hurt that year."

Thanks, Linty.
I'm hoping its just coincidental. But in the last two years he's going to have missed about 3 months with a broken thumb, a sprained wrist, and a strained oblique. All in the name of making spectacular plays in the outfield.
Love the tenacity but dammit, sometimes you probably should just take it on the hop, Loren.
