  • New Guy Introduction...

Alright so after I creepily jumped on and watched that sim today I guess I better introduce myself as Matt, Pat's friend, which I hope you guys won't hold against me.

Heres a little backround on my sports experience/interest/biases. I played basketball, football, and soccer in high school and was fotunate enough to carry Pat on my back for most of his collegiate intermural sports career. Go Cougs!!! (but my real college loyalties resides in Ann Arbor). I have been fasinated with sports and sports stats my entire life. Which is why this seems natural that something like this would catch my interest after having looked over Pat's shoulders for months.

My sports biases consist of rooting for all Cleveland sports teams which is curse passed down from my father.(you can all guess how I feel about the NBA fallout of last summer). Also a little backround on my internet skills. Well this is the longest post I have ever made on a forum. My gaming skills are more closely tied with 64's and x-box's but am lookin forward to getting started and really learnig this text-sim thing.

    Welcome Matt Jr.

There be hell in these halls but always know that I'm the nicest, kindest guy here and will never try to take advantage of your newbieness.

Most of the guys here are assholes. I'm sure Pat warned you of them.

Go through the career metrics, check on the league history, read old classic posts featuring some of the children that will someday lead this country. And have fun.

Welcome! I was an avid sports fan who stumbled across sports text sims several years ago and am now hooked.

Post freely, post often. The more chatter the better. Good luck in the BLB.

Hmmmmm and I was really having a problem figuring out how your application got fast tracked. Now it all makes sense to me.

Welcome aboard Matt Jr. I'm sorry you had to carry Diesel on your back, but you probably weren't the first and won't be the last. I'm assuming you're taking over Pittsburgh?

If so just remember that Funclown is a jerk and injuring his players is your franchises number one priority.

Good luck and welcome to the BLB!

Actually, I didn't know anything about the Ann Arbor thing... so that's either just a bonus OR Pat is trying to feed him pillow talk.

We're going to get Matt Jr. set-up as Pittsburgh. Figured there's no better trial by fire than putting him in a division with Funclown.

You also need to request membership in the BLB Owners group so I can give you access.

            Thanks

Now that I'm the "Elder Overlord" in this division let me welcome you to the meat grinder also known as "The Ale". Even a winning record doesn't guarantee you a trip out of the cellar. The Ale has some of the most furious hitters in the league!

Pittsburgh has been sort of a cute advesary for Pawtucket and we hope this continues under your watch. Like the Patriots your farm system is a little thin right now, but some really top notch players exist at the major league level.

Good luck to you. Remember trade with me only since I'm the only owner that can be trusted. (We will talk about Raul Carrillo in the offseason )

You could ask the clown how to build a winning team but unfortuantly his already came assembled.
