24-year-old C.J. Goodhart of the Tucson Toros put together a good year in 2009 for such a young player. Goodhart was named today as the winner of the Blue Chip Coalition Outstanding Pitcher Award.

I like Goodhart, don't get me wrong.
But he was facing tougher lineups in Triple-A.

5-Hit Blitz by Winslow: What a day for Tyler Winslow of the Morgantown Mohawks! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day. He ripped Baltimore pitching apart at Mountaineer Park. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. But the Bulldogs spoiled his party by winning the game 7-4.
The Morgantown second baseman confessed, "I would have much preferred getting a couple of hits and winning the game to this. It's hard to enjoy anything when you lose."
His skipper said, "It's a shame that we couldn't have won the game. A guy gets a once-in-a-lifetime game and can't really enjoy it."
But he was upbeat enough to talk about his basic theory of hitting. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Winslow told reporters. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Tyler Winslow singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Winslow is hitting .316 this year with 11 home runs, 55 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has 169 hits in 534 at-bats, 26 walks and a .351 on-base percentage. Winslow has played in 140 games.
Combs Holds Philadelphia Scoreless: Jamie Combs of the Batavia Muckdogs really did a job on the Freedom today at Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower Field, shutting them out 4-0. Combs frustrated Philadelphia hitters throughout the game, surrendering 4 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 2 in picking up the victory.
Season-to-date Combs has rung up 12 wins and 9 losses in 27 appearances. He has an ERA of 3.54 and has fanned 135 batters in 180.1 innings.
BC Chill Jobe's Hot Streak: There was double misery today for the Snappers B.J. Jobe as he saw his 22-game hitting streak end and his team lose 4-3 to Denver at Rocky Top Park. The 33-year-old center fielder was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the BC.
For the year Jobe is batting .271 with 2 home runs.
