Thats just off memory. There maybe others.

I could name about 10 (including myself) that paid somewhat attention to it.
I get a lot of credit around here for being ahead of the curve with defense...

But I think in something like my first six drafts I spent something like four 1st RD picks on MRs. Back when we showed players overall ratings/potential.

"Well this SS has 65 potential... but this MR could be a 78!"

I drafted a MR in the 1st round. I think it was Dave who told everyone we would always suck!

I had this really dumb idea I could develop his 3rd pitch and become a starter. Yeah it took me awhile to get the this draft thing.

Wasn't one of Davenport's most famous closers taken in the first round?

Not Black. I can't quite remember the name. Gordhano? Started with a G. He was nasty.

                  Mine was Tyler Earley.

                  http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_1748.html

Tried to make him a starter but it never worked out. Guy ended up anchoring 2 championship teams in the pen. Played 788 games for us, 63-35 with 104 saves and a 2.51 ERA.

                  Suck it Dave!

I don't like starters with only 3 Pitches. I do prefer them playing in the bullpen. Starters have to have at least 4 5+ rated pitches... I might be wrong though.

I have tried all these ways. None work.

I'm right with you. I have a lot of criteria for a starter. But sometimes guys surprise you.

Banana Burns. Pat Dimmick. Two names I can think of that didn't have the stamina or pitches but it didn't stop them from dominating.

The only "middle reliever" I took in the first round for Maine was some guy called Twinkle Toes.

                          He turned out okay.
