The Guides go 2-4 this week and fall from #1 to #2. Climbers this week were Seattle, Pawtucket, and Santo Domingo who all go 5-1 and the Millers who went 6-0 with sweeps of Indy and New Orleans. On the other end were Indy and Syracuse who each went 1-5. Thanks to a .500 month for Carolina they are no longer on the bottom as the Snappers have taken over that spot.

Performance of the Week
DH Josh Wright, NYK - On May 30th against California Wright hit a 3 run HR in the top of the 9th to help give the Knights a four run 9th and come from behind and win. On the day he had two home runs and drove in six runs. At 24 years old he's already in his 5th season in the BLB and hasn't quite shown his full potential yet. This year he's hitting .248 with 9 HR's and management is hoping this is the start of something big.
Injury of the Week
P Ivan Sepulveda, NYK - We will stay in New York as they suffered the biggest injury of the week. On June 2nd against Phoenix Sepulveda was in the 2nd inning and got his second out on a 6-3 ground out before doubling over in pain. He gingerly walked off the field with trainers and was diagnosed with a strained abdominal muscle and will be out for over a month. The 32 year old is 4-2 on the season with a 2.98 ERA. He was the winner of the Brewmasters Cup MVP last season.
Prospect of the Week
P Cillian Callison - Drafted at 1.9 by Syracuse the 6'3 pitcher from Glenpool, Oklahoma has had a solid HS career. In three seasons he's 6-6 with a 4.34 ERA and 131 K's to 57 BB's. Callison throws four pitches and is a groundball pitcher who hits the low 90's on the radar gun.
Five Things We Think We Think
1. Lets go cycling. This week we had two of them...by the same team...as Alex Santiago and Dusty Collins for the Rum Runners each had one on different days. On May 28th Santiago hit the cycle when he went 5 for 5 with 5 RBI's in a 7-6 victory over Maine. A few days later on June 1st Collins also used 5 at bats to get his in a 9-1 victory over Syracuse.
2. Maine leads the DL in runs scored, home runs, runs allowed, team ERA, and defense efficiency. They have 19 more runs than 2nd place Miami and have allowed 34 less runs than 2nd place Pawtucket. On offense 27 year old Turell Morris has entered his prime and is on pace for 71 HR's and 214 RBI's this year. Pitching wise Scooter Nackers is 7-1 with a 2.58 ERA. Defensively an outfield of Danny Garza, Dave Tibbs, and Akiyuki Kimura have a combined ZR of +25.
3. We jinxed Jamie Rush. Last week he hit .133 and stole one base. Sources say Wilmington manager...wait...Wilmington doesn't have a manger. They are the only team in the league that allows the GM to be the manager as well. League officials have been notified and the Wildcats should be looking for a manger soon. Well anyways someone from Wilmington told sources they were glad the "kid" had a down week as they didn't want all the press to go to his head.
4. Injuries, injuries, everywhere. A lot of press has been devoted in Chicago to the Blues injuries woes. This year they have had players on the DL for 240 days. Not so fast my friend though as Wilmington leads the league with 253 days. The Phoenix Roadrunners meanwhile have used the warm climate to their advantage as they have not had to put a player on the DL yet this season. That should change this week though as Tom Ackers went down with a back issue yesterday and should be out for at least a month.
5. All-Star voting has started to pour in. Turell Morris is leading the DL with 162k+ votes while Robby Brooksher is leading the IL with almost 165k votes. A few potential 1st time All-Stars are in the running this year as well. In the IL Seattle shortstop Nehemiah Daniel and Washington first basemen Jamie Nickerson lead their position group while in the DL Maine shortstop Phil Campbell and Syracuse center fielder Dave Wagner lead their respective groups.
