    Performance of the Week

Dave Schaefer - On May 5th he hit three home runs against Washington while driving in four in an 11-6 victory. On the season the 24 year old and 2029 2nd round pick is hitting .254 with 11 HR's and 22 RBI's with a 1.2 WAR.

    Injury of the Week

Pat Trainer - On May 3rd Trainer came in during the 8th, gave up a run, took the loss, and left the game with an injury. He was diagnosed with a torn meniscus and will be out for 3-4 months. The 25 year old was a former 2nd round pick of the Kodiaks and was 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA.

    Prospect of the Week

Lucas 'Stump' Schein - The 17 year old from Cleveland plays for Poly Prep and is 1-0 with 7 saves and a 1.62 ERA in 14 games this year. He was recently selected to the 2033 HS All-Star game and is said by many to be a favorite among his teammates. Right now he throws upper 80s and his a slider that with some coaching has scouts saying it could be un-hittable.

Five Things We Think We Think

    1. Dave Finney should pitch for the Rum Runners every game. He came in three times this week during the 7th inning and the scores were 5-5, 2-3, and 0-1. The final score for those games ended up being 9-5, 5-3, and 6-1. Finney was 3-0 for the week with a 0.00 ERA.

    2. More than a few heads are shaking around the league when they see JP Petruzzelli in a Maine uniform. Never making it higher than A ball back in 2030 he hasn't played since but was signed by the Guides and is coming out of their bullpen now. He's 1-3 with a 9.00 ERA, 2.40 WHIP, and ERA+ of 43. Another GM text the DK that he's "...shocked and it's time to call Silivan Brouwer back up from AAA." In 2032 Brouwer was 13-10 with 13 saves and a 2.89 ERA.

    3. RJ Blewett was the Wild Card MVP last season for Phoenix but wasn't offered arbitration and became a free agent. The Road Runners picked him back up on a four year deal when no one else showed a lot of interest. His batting stats up to this point:

    2029 - .234/.297/.345
    2030 - .303/.366/.511
    2031 - .280/.327/.451
    2032 - .263/.316/.424

This year he's currently sitting at .410/.449/.650.

    4. In another random person playing out of position the Snappers have first basemen Johnny Bright playing backup catcher. In six games he has eight passed balls to his name. Four more than second place Erik 'The Tornado" MacDonough who has four in 23 games.

    5. After the Year of the Bats it's strange to see them 10 games out of the Stout and sitting all alone in last place in May. With a league leading $149 million payroll something has to change. Manager Manny Ochoa won the Brewmasters in his first year, will he still be around after his second one?
