  • Meet RF Wes Rich

A inspirational history involving a 19 year old, born in Cleveland (OH), Wes spent his HS days playing for Cathedral HS Devil Dogs, he was always known for his power at the plate collecting 32 HRs as a starting RF during 3 years, however there were concerns on how greedy this young guy was. Instead of going to University he was drafted by the California Kodiaks with the 8th Round pick, and he never had a chance to develop in there as he was cut short after his Rookie year where he slashed .230 / .238 / .260 / .498 with a -0.7 as a starting RF for the Kodiaks RL affiliate, he was just 17 and was getting abused by those pitchers coming for the NCAA / Cape Cod League. PaulC never gave him a chance of a 2nd year and on the 27th of June of 2033 after that Draft he was just given with the "good bye" paperwork.

In the summer of 2033 Wes was working in his mechanics and he caught the attention of the Sharks Scout William Juenger, who has a knack to spot young prospects who otherwise get overlooked by OSA. The 24th of August of 2033 Sharkn20 extended a $10K check to claim his services, and he just couldn't say no, he was promised to start in 2034 and demonstrate his value. Wes was delighted with the opportunity and spent the whole fall working in his contact, power and eye to make a good impression to his new organisation. "The Sharks have A+ facilities and excellent coaches who are making me work hard and realise my potential, I am excited by this opportunity and am gonna make the best of it, at the end of the day I want to be a millionaire playing in the BLB". Somehow Wes forgot to work in his range and his glove, he has a fantastic arm to throw players out at 2nd or 3rd base but he will never contend for a Golden Globe award.

Wes started in 73 games this year for the Santa Monica RL affiliate slashing .339 / .381 / .516 / .897 with 148 OPS+ and 2.0 WAR. Collecting 34 extra base hits in the process. He is being promoted to Los Cayos to continue with his development and hopefully make the big leagues in the future, so far William Juenger projects him as a 50 / 55 / 55 / 45 / 60 player. Ranging between 55 and 50 contact which will be the deal breaker to be a BLB player or an AAAA type player.

You're likely right... My scout wasn't high on him, and I've entered a bunch of draft picks into the system the last few years...
