I was just reading back through this thread, and I'll be interested to see if this cycle is broken. It would be a stretch for Woodbury to win a Glove Wizard, but not impossible.Originally posted by MattG View Post<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 border=0><TBODY><TR class=title2><TD>Players To Win A Glove Wizard Award, End Of Season Award, And Be An All-Star In The Same Season

That would be me. I thought he was going to get a couple more though.Originally posted by BradZJose Guzman's effort in '88 earned him all of 1 3rd place vote in the DL Stout Slugger race.

Great season. No doubt. But I think he falls short of being in the conversation of the best ever. Less than 100 runs. His K/BB were almost dead even. Less than 80 walks. One steal attempt (caught).Originally posted by Lintyfresh85 View PostAnd.... Shannon's. He was literally percentage points away from the first ever Triple Crown season in BLB history.
I'd say a Top 10 season... but I'm not sure it even makes the Top 5.
That being said, he wins the Triple Crown and it's obviously the most unique accomplishment.

I think if you're talking best seasons ever for a Hitter in the BLB... you have to have Kellum (78) and Keppel (82 & 83) in the conversation.

I wish there was a utility that let you plug in numbers and see which guys match the criteria.Originally posted by BradZ View PostJose Guzman's effort in '88 earned him all of 1 3rd place vote in the DL Stout Slugger race.
I'm interested in knowing how many guys have had Guzman's season:
100 BB
100 R
100 RBI
40 2B
10 SB
.300 AVG
.400 OBP
By the way, the answer is none.
But, you can grab stats from Campoveroe's '84 campaign and suggest it's better. I think it is.Last edited by Carlos; 02-16-2010, 11:43 AM.

That's an All-Star list. Certainly an impressive statistic.
