Draft Picks
1.29 DE Patrick Fulcher 35/69 (+4/+3)
Traded up to draft Fulcher, only to find he could not bulk up to play NT. So I moved him outside and crossed my fingers. Seems to have worked out, although it does create something of a log jam for me at DE.
3.29 DT Otis Zimmerman 25/34 (0/-6)
Combine skipper my scout thought was very underrated. Drafted as insurance in case Fulcher didn't pan out. Good thing I also had insurance in case Zimmerman didn't pan out.
4.30 DE Arnold Schwartz 23/32 (+4/+4)
Looks like an upward creeper. But he's gonna find himself fighting for a roster spot with last year's 4th round creeper Rondell Tyler and this year's 1st round draft pick. Good luck rook.
5.29 ILB Jackie Allen 31/53 (+4/-3)
I knew Allen was in for a drop when he showed up to camp with a 56 potential, but this is actually better than I expected out of him. He could still turn out to be a usefull mid 40's player.
6.30 G Karl Andrews 13/34 (+3/0)
My only offensive pick of the draft. We're deep at guard so Karl's strong affinity might not be enough to earn him a roster spot.
7.29 ILB Nolan Carman 22/37 (-2/-7)
Last year I passed on picking up K Lionel Yanez, who I really wanted, in the seventh round to draft some DT who didn't even make the team. Luckily I got Yanez as an UDFA and he went on to make All Pro his rookie year. This year I passed on P Graham McDaniel, who I really wanted, to draft some LB who won't even make my team.
Undrafted Rookies
P Graham McDaniel 45/53 (+1/+5)
Speaking of McDaniel. No chance he pulls a Yanez and goes All Pro (we just don't punt often enough) But he's got a big leg and will push an agining Tracy Damon for a starting spot this pre season.
C Alfred Keisel 20/43 (+1/-5)
Needed another warm body at center after I traded away Jerome Huntley. This warm body just happens to have an exeptional affinity with my offensive line leader.
NT Joseph Osborne 17/36 (+4/+13)
I spent my first two draft picks on DTs, and the best one I got was an undrafted rookie.
C Bryce Wilcox 23/26 (+2/0)
Brought in Wilcox to compete with Keisel as the backup center. He has a good long snapping bar, but nothing else that's going to earn him a roster spot.

Los Alamos Draft;
1. Kevin Newman DE - 28/73 (0/+5) Unfortunately still unsigned but my Defensive Coordinator is drooling over the prospect of him and Samson rushing the QB.
2. Jackie Blue OLB - 35/60 (+5/-2) Moved him from WLB (where Samson is) to SLB
4. Rondell Johnson G - 26/51 (+2/-7) Hoping he hangs on to take over the LG spot someday
5. Walt Nichols C - 18/54 (+4/-2) I think I've found my answer for a future center
6. Benjamin Williamson ILB - 21/38 (+4/+1) Not sure what to think of this pick as he has a mild conflict but will still be in the hunt for a starting job as we are weak here
7. Les Sutton TE - 26/43 (+2/-6) This was a throw a dart at the board pick as the team ahead of me drafted the guy I'd been watching. I've a plethora of TE's at the moment so it is going to be an interesting preseason to see who stays on the roster with Hawley.GM - Davenport Brawlers BLB

Looks like 2021 will be the DEATH OF THE TOTEMS! Hopefully it will be a long, slow spiral and not a total collapse. :) My poor drafting is finally catching up with me as my talented players age.
(1) Derrick Schwartz WLB 30/55 -> 34/52 Bleh. Will back up my not so impressive pass rushing WLB, Rich Johnstone.
(1) Pat Donaghy WR 29/43 -> 34/46 A rare bright spot in Dakota drafting. Nothing amazing, but perhaps he can bring a little dynamism to the WR corps.
(2) J.B. Trotter RB 36/56 -> 39/53 The day I draft a RB who bumps in TC will be the day the world comes to an end. Still, he'll be useful as our running backs are not very impressive, and one will miss training camp with a knee injury sustained last season in week 6.
(4) Shannon MacGregor DE 23/28 -> 24/29 I was hoping for a bigger bump than that. I guess I'll keep him around because that's a pretty good name for a DE.
(5) Kyle Warren FS 8/26 -> 12/29 Not mind boggling, but he went up. I'll keep him around although he won't see much action.
(6) Wesley Gomez WR 17/28 -> 20/30 Late round flyer at WR. He's still better than last year's #1, Moe Zimmerman. :)
None of my UFAs were notable, and most were bad. Josh Stuart, an UFA from last year, projects as our primary DT this year. Our seventh was traded to Utah for DT LeRoy Burroughs, who is without doubt a better player than I've ever picked with a 7th round pick. :)

Well done Mike!Owner of the Drunken, Fightin' Irish.
