  • 2022 FA 1.3 SIM Complete - Next SIM Friday 12/09

    http://simgamingnetwork.com/osfl/lea...t_12_08_11.zip

Next SIM Friday 12/09. Files due by 6pm ET.

FA SIM 1.4 is next up on the list.

There are still some issues with teams offering/signing players to deals less than 3 years.

Remember during the FA1 period the minimum number of years that can be offered to FA's is three. Please check your offers. Thanks.

If a player signs for less than 3 years the contracts are being voided, FYI.

Please note the results of the two rule change polls that are now closed. These changes take effect immediately

    1) There are no longer restrictions on player contract renegotiations. You are free to renegotiate with any player on your roster that is currently under contract.

    2) The Grey Sheet rule has been replaced with the new 3 year minimum contract for any FA during FA 1.X.

Let me know if anyone has any questions about these new changes. They are now in place for this 2022 season.

Brad, I think the question is, are you going to void AI teams that sign contracts to less than 3 year deals? You probably should. Chicago's Edwards contract was voided but Columbus has had more than one, I think, which haven't. Columbus being AI now.

Depending on how the voiding mechanic works (Does bonus stick to CAP?) this might screw the AI run teams even worse.

I've been debating with myself on this. I can't really stop the AI from signing more deals just like it so it seems we would be chasing our tails. I guess one could argue the AI needs all the help it could get, no?

Plus, the rule is to combat humans front load abusing contracts anyway, and the AI isn't going to do that.

That's true. It just seems to be an unfortunate side effect of the rule. I can see some people being upset if their FA target is signed away by an AI team that wasn't operating on the same playing field.

Tbh, it seems like a potential strike against the rule, something to consider in future years.

Chicago's not, OE2M owns them - a few owners are still getting the memo on the rule change I guess, and any successful contracts are just voided (which is why that slight creeper LT, Lake, is available again after being signed earlier).

I don't think voided contracts count against cap, right?

Yep, made note of it in the trade thread. I'll get it tomorrow. Sorry.

they already are, except the aforementioned AI ones.

It just doesn't show up under the transaction log, but check, you'll see.
