It took me a moment to realize why everyone I lost out on was being signed by different teams to $2mil contracts :P

Utah pulls in an insurance tackle, Kavika Blidner, from Port City on a 1-year deal. And another one of those crappy 2nd or 3rd year players we always end up cutting later. *

Resolution for this year: sign at least one guy in FA1 that I keep through the regular season cutdown. That would be one more than last year.

    * - We make it a policy to almost never sign unrestricted FAs to 1-year deals since they just go back into the FA pool the next year without the team being able to do anything about it (short of franchising). This year, we're making some exceptions on guys who are here not for the long haul, but "just in case" someone else crashes in camp.

yeah, I noticed that...maybe he was playing at left tackle? They get the brunt of the pass rush, and his QB has fairly low SR, too, as well as a very high # of attempts. But I hope to never have to use Blidner. He would be for if say Keisel decided to go and get himself VSOD and winds up 25/25.
