Rules?

This will be my first real stab at a FOF MP league, so I'm probably going to ask a bunch of stupid questions, lol.

First one: Are we going to have a "rules" page, or does the game pretty much handle all of the rules for trades/transactions, etc...

Nope. I'm a big time noob. Just picked up the game this week. I'm a vet of OOTP and BBCF leagues however. We will probably get steamrolled here by the vets with a better handle on the subtleties of the game. Should still be fun though!

Well, that's encouraging because I don't feel like getting my butt handed to me ALL year, lol.

I'm also a Vet of OOTP, BBCF, and TPB, so I have a lot of text sim online league experience. Hopefully I'll catch on quickly.

To be clear, I'm a long-time FOF veteran, run an FOF fansite, was the point person for getting two FOF leagues started, and am in enough leagues as it is. ;) The only reason I joined this league is that I consider Operation Sports to be a fine outfit, and thought it would be good for y'all and for Solecismic Software if I could be of some assistance by way of answering questions, giving tips, etc. I'm here to be a resource for y'all, so don't hesitate to ask questions. Also, all of you should make sure to read the .hlp and csv.txt files that were included with the game, and also to check out the FOF2K7 section at FOFC.

Recommendations

The FOF Forum, as SkyDog has stated, has a great gameplanning string on the site. I started off with the Indy Smokers, now Invaders, 0-3 last DFL season, studied the FOF Forum for gameplanning tips and strategies, and have gone 16-4 since then. It's definitely worth studying.

Is there one specific thread about game planning? Or just the overall board itself? I haven't been able to find a specific thread on gameplanning strategies, but I have been looking.

Maybe i've just over looked it.

Gameplanning is one of the areas that people seem to be fairly tightlipped about. However, I'm certainly willing to give general tips to anyone on here.

FYI, I've almost finalized a set of rules that I'll be posting within the next day or two. Have no fear, rules will be in place prior to the start of the season.
