Bad news, I lost by 1 point

Good news, everyone else lost in the NC that was in the Wild Card race, so I got into the playoffs.

GG Charlotte, can't believe it was a 1 point game though.

Looks like his d-line (expected) and special teams (using 1 minute aren't you?) got you. I can't believe you backed into the playoffs though. I'm kind of sick of seeing you on the field.

      Go Julio!

WOW. This game by the numbers:

        UTAH
        6 runs for negative yardage
6 runs for exactly 0 yards
11 runs for exactly 1 yard
        38 attempts total.
Herman Woods: 17 carries for 18 yards. Long of 4.

At one point penalized for two holds & a false start in one drive. Punted after gaining 21 yards in 3 plays.
        Los Alamos
-Lost 42 yards on 7 sacks, 5 of them in the first half. At one point, Cash was sacked three plays in a row.
-Negative 5 yards rushing in the first half. First 6 runs netted -9 yards. First 8, netted 1. Then a 91 yard from McCumber to bring their average up to over 10 ypc!
-A negative-8 yard punt return at one point. Followed by a false start for good measure.
gg nelmsm. Goodness, what ARE you feeding those run defenders? I recall similar ridiculousness from our first game this year. They are so good the game engine has surrendered to their might.

        Spoiler

So, we went into this game with Giang on the bench because we really needed to know, both for this season and next year, a) if we had a running game without him (that's an emphatic no...), and b) what could Randy if he had to be on his own. That answers those questions! On to the playoffs!

Oh yeah, never use 1 minute on special teams. I'm going to tally up my penalty totals on KR/PR this year, but it's really high, and it's not because of my new coach. I guess that's not something Ozzy would worry about, since he averages 60 yards per pass play.

Gainesville making the playoffs is terrible news.

With draft pick position on the line, the Dakota Totems brought their B game, which is the best game they bring, and pulled out a victory.

Probably cost us like 3 draft spots. :)

Kelvin Douglas caught 7 passes for a whopping 31 yards, after catching 9 all season. A nice way to close out his career with the Totems, who will without doubt release a player who was their biggest trade bust of my tenure, edging out former underachiever Britt Peters, who at least is a team leader. Pat Donaghy stayed healthy all year for the first time and lead the team in receiving yards this year, beating out Bernie Jones by 2 yards.

Could have been the last game for some long time Totems. Orlando Sampson and Roosevelt Dunn were the only ones that played, as Lincoln "Sackmaster" Lewis and Ron Dabbs rode the bench to give the younguns some time. Lewis still managed to lead the team in sacks allowed despite only playing in ten games.

Only way to go is up from here!

Run defense plays well most of the time but having my sisters playing in my secondary really isn't working out to well.

Wow I'm so glad I tried one minute on special teams for the first time ever in FOFL. Can't wait to see the results.

Sure glad we rested our starters. Had a lot of injuries this game. We need the time to heal. Our defense can't do it all. Offense has been mediocre at best this season. Trading away 2 all pro lineman will have do that.

                    Oh man..

We were down 20-10 with 13 minutes left when the team decided they weren't going to lay down and give up their playoff spot or the division title.

Wow, what a final 13 minutes that was. The defense just willed this one into being with some seriously opportunistic plays in that short span that turned this from bitter defeat to surprising near blowout.

                    GG Vegas.

Please tell me Camden played their starters lol.

A fitting way to end the season as Max Montano carried the team on his back like he has done all year. Just checked, and Max set the single season record for all purpose yards this year (Breaking Burt Newman's mark). Since Camden has owned us forever, this one was extra sweet ;)

                          You sure about that?

Max had 2,861 all purpose yards this year from what I can see.
Kinney had 3,116 all purpose yards this year.

The single season all purpose yards record is 3,969 set by Bruce O'Neil in 2006.

Unless I have the wrong files, that's what the league record shows on my game.
