I guess it's good I finished my scouting the last export since it's almost my pick... at 1.18... before the draft even starts. Damn.

The pre-draft is awesome. You get the luxury of spending about as much time as you could want to look things over/field trades, and no pressure of being on a clock. You'll be up very soon Clay, by the way. 1.17 has been made and 1.18 is about to be in the books, if NOS is still here.

Yeah I'm still here, doing my usual trick of dropping down the 1st. Draft should be moving along in a few minutes

New Orleans doing that wheelin and dealin'!

There have been a lot of fantastic picks so far in this draft. A lot of teams have upgraded their weaponry. Boston has made the intriguing move of the first round so far by selecting a very interesting but question-mark-filled DE pass rusher at 1.12, and followed it by trading back in to nab a star TE at 1.16.

Two veritably GREAT tight ends have gone in the middle of the first round, very nice picks both.

At 1.19, Clay's MTC Mechanics are up. It's a little bit crazy just how much high-end, top-end talent is still on the board at this time.

In Utah, we are quietly of the opinion that we have secured a real phenom in safety Wally Burgess. Originally not on our radar at all when we moved to 18 -- we were sure he would be out of reach -- we were stunned when he kept dropping. We felt so good here that we flipped our 2026 3rd just to move up one spot and select him!

Burgess is simply a sensational all-around athlete who will bring a little 'star power' to the safety front, the kind we haven't had in years. We have plenty of serviceable, but Burgess will round out a talented secondary very, very nicely, and could be its best player yet.

At 1.19, the Motor City Mechanics go with Luther Mason (CB) - Rhode Island...

Considered the Tackle (who went with the next pick), but opted to sure up our secondary by adding a complimentary piece to Mercury Huard who, ironically, was also taken at 1.19 (2023).

Really liked a lot about this kid... but... what do I know.

Loved Mason and Burgess (and quite a few other secondary guys) but we are happy enough with the secondary we drafted last year.

Our defensive scheme focuses on getting to the QB at all costs, so we couldn't pass up the pass rushing talent of Baxter. I am confident the QBs in the NC East will be checking under their bed at night because Reggie "Boogeyman" Baxter has them running scared.

Our other pressing need is to get some quality targets for Cary Money, and with Roy Majors' great combine and affinity with our receiver's leader (and by extension Money) it was a no-brainer to trade back into the round to snag him.

Sorry in advance if 1.32 takes a while. With my backwards schedule and PCT geography I set the timer to max in hopes I can break away and make my pick.

Really liking Boston's draft so far. I think this is the year they turn the corner.

The logjam at tailback in Utah just got a little more crowded.

After the #2 role was not filled to satisfaction in 2024, the Bees made their highest-ever selection of a RB in Nate Washington at 2.11, after trading with Boston. It's significantly higher than we valued Nate, but it turned out for the best -- Waco was looking to pounce at 2.12.

No idea if Washington is good or not, but in the end, we used our lone 2nd rounder of the year to snag a potential future replacement for Earnest Giang. A big step down for sure, but perhaps a solid, serviceable back. A worthy gamble to run behind our 9th year superstar.

The Bees also return both part-time #2's from last year - Ronald Harrow and Herman Woods - as well as very promising 2nd-year man Ryan Green, who struggled with fumbles as a rookie. Shaping up to be a very tense preseason battle, particularly between Woods, Harrow, and Washington. Green would appear safe for now.

A year after skipping out on the first two rounds, the Bees have now made three Top-45 selections. We're excited about the talent we've been able to add to the team so far.

At 2.18, the Mechanics snag OLB Ronnie Lee of Ball State University....

Felt like on the worst case... Lee can be a situational pass rusher from the weakside. However, my Scout has him as Very Underrated and could be a shit ton better than his combines show.

We like the kid a lot. Another need position.

                      Welcome to Detroit.

With pick 2.5 of the 2025 draft, the Dakota Totems selected Artie "Reverend" Lovejoy. Longtime #1 receiver, Seth "Rabbi" Shapiro was traded in 2024, and team officials said they felt like they had to go in a new direction with their WR corps. Benjamin "Padre" Barrientos was coveted by the Totems, but went two picks earlier. "We judge the quality of our picks by the ire of the other owners, as we have no idea what we're doing," said the Totems GM. One thing is for sure: the Totems WR corps will remain monotheistic.

DAK: "Gah, I'm gonna regret this, but I'm picking this jerkwad."

DAK: "I did it. I took Artie Lovejoy and I hate myself."

Famous moments in Totem draft press release history....

We are entirely the same way about judging the quality of our picks by the ire of other owners. If nobody complains, we did something wrong. Our goal with every pick, the thing that really brings smiles to our faces —

Speaking of owner rage, half of the AC West is not very fond of Yuma at this time ;)

Lovejoy's bars just kind of frightened me for whatever reason. My scout likes him though. I wasn't sold on him until a few good owners in chat were like "AWWW SNAP."

At 3.23... The Mechanics select Ricardo Beckemeier - CB - Louisville...

Wait... didn't you take a CB in Round 1????

                                Yes... Yes we did.

                                Taking a huge flier here.

                                (A) We think the kid is way better than his bars show.

                                (B) We think he may actually be a Safety - a need position.

                                We're gambling a bit.
