I'm guessing the only way to do an historical season is to 1) start with this year 2) start with 1970 ------- I know the other draft years are there after that but say I wanted to replay Steelers 95 season with the actual roster -- Is there not any way to do this?

I don't know of any 95 rosters out there. I think you'd have to create the roster if you wanted to do that. Most people who play historically just start in 70 and work through the draft classes.

Originally posted by DookieMowfYou can start with the 1992 rosters. There is a csv file out there.
I didn't know how to do it, but Hungry helped me out.
Let me know if you need help
That would be awesome if you could get me the info on how to convert the csv to be used ----- One great thing I wish Fof had would be to an affinity option where cpu teams that drafted (in real life) particular players would try to draft them again (within reason) --- Puresim has this

Go here http://fof.sportplanet.gamespy.com/f...ad.php?t=53713
Click on 1992 Roster CSV file (save as)
Go to program files/solecismic/ go to the player file MFC application/generate player file and then find the 1992 csv file you saved
Then when you start the game, do the alternate player file and find the player file it created and load.
I hope the instructions made sense.OSNFL - Boston Fighting Irish

The only problem is that the ratings don't really reflect too much of the actual performances of the players. Especially if you're using X Factor.
(and I don't mean Dante Hall.)
I LOVE the historical rosters, but I don't really expect them to remotely resemble how they actually did. It's about 75/25. Sometimes you have total nobodies come on and lead the league in whatever. Which is kind of cool, but not if you're actually replaying specific teams and seasons. :)Cotton Kidd, General Manager: The Utah Bees

That and I also didn't like how stars are sometimes not rated as stars. Like one time I loaded the rosters Rice came in like at 74/74, Young was a 63/69 and Brent Jones was a 89/89 . I would load them again and just the opposite...Young was always poorly rated, but I guess it's because he had yet to peak (that season he put up some good numbers)OSNFL - Boston Fighting Irish

Also, the veracity of the ratings in the CSV is up to whoever compiles them anyway. And I'm sure there's arguments a plenty on who should be rated how. Sure, you can guess that so-and-so is a good receiver, but what parts make him good? YAC, good hands, route running, etc... the more distant the season from now, the more foggy the details, I think.
Just the same, I'm glad someone is doing it! :)Cotton Kidd, General Manager: The Utah Bees

the only "9's" in the file are Reggie white, Jerry Rice, Barry Sanders, Derrick Thomas, and Dermonti Dawson. (there are only 15 "8's" btw) Brent Jones is a 5 and Steve Young is a 6. That really shows the variability built in to the import of the file for Brent to show up higher than Jerry Rice --- Did you have x factor on?

Steve Young only has 5 traits with values (only looking at his passing related ones) in that csv --- this introduces the tremendous variability as the engine "makes" up values when there is a zero --- I'm guessing that adding ratings in there would make it much much more realistic ------ He does have a "9" in the arrogant pr*ck category :D
