  • Preseason playing time

I was wondering, is it good to play some of the younger guys a little longer in preseason? If so, how many years does a guy have to be in the league were preseason doesn't really matter?

Should I treat it like real life and play my starters maybe, 20/30%? Right now I have my starters at 40% except two rookies who start and they are at 60%

I'm sure I'll make some changes when I get home. Was just curious.

    Thanks

With the new version, things have changed, so there are no experts. Players who don't get enough playing time will have "rust" when the regular season starts, and won't perform as well. To what degree, I haven't tested yet. You'll need to experiment in SP to find out how much playing time is enough to avoid rust, or just use the AI recommendations.

As far as development of young players, the more they play, the more they develop. So, if you have a veteran starter and a rookie backup, you need to make sure that your vet plays enough not to be rusty, but that your rookie is in for the majority of the snaps, for the sake of his development.
