I'm pretty sure Corwin Metzenbaum (who? Exactly.) just had the worst game of his life. Unbelievable.

Hmm, you're right. Not sure what the hell I was looking at. I guess the HTML update wasn't complete when I checked the boxscores. Oh well, sorry to bring that up again Camden.

Ha! A 40/40 backup QB should not be playing like Poston has played. But, believe me, I'm not complaining.

Third time was the charm. We raped and pillaged Yuma for an easy win.

QB Poston was again unbelievable: 25-31, 353 yards, 1 TD and 0 Int, 148.4 passer rating.

gg, strick. Man, we really have a pulse on Phoenix or something. Today's result was not much different from our Week 17 beatdown. Last time it was 42-10, and today, 41-0. We gained an additional 2 minutes in time of possession this game, up to 37:30 vs 22:30, and only allowed 162 yards in the rematch - Phoenix had 300 the first time around. Our offense was equally on fire in both games, 523 in game 1, and 511 today.

Emmanuel Logan returned from injury to start at defensive end for us, and made his impact in the first two plays of the game - a 2-yard TFL, followed by a sack, strip, and fumble recovery all on his own the next play. Randy's first pass would be intercepted in the end zone, but he would be immaculate the rest of the way, finishing 23/31 for 352 yards and a 130.0 rating.

KEY STAT: For the first time ever, our star-studded WR pair of Alvin Foley and Colin Fletcher both topped the 100-yard mark in the same game. They've probably started close to 70 games opposite each other, but it couldn't have happened at a better time.

NOT THEIR DAY: Down 34-0 with under 6 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, Phoenix could only helplessly watch as Randy Boone found Alvin Foley for a 45-yard catch-and-run (31 YAC) on 3rd & 17. Ouch.

SPYGATE?: For the second straight game, the Solevision announcers noted that Utah defenders were "very familiar" with Phoenix offensive plays by the middle of the 2nd quarter. What's going on there?

Now you have to go and get technical. This is Poston as a rookie in the DA. I estimated his Avoid Int at 83 and his future rating at 56 (future rating is frequently overstated by about 10 points). His SR wasn't so hot but I liked his Acc. My scout had him at VU. He was drafted at 4.09.

                        Sole 26
                        40 4.90
                        Bench 12
                        Agil 7.92
                        BJ 110
                        PD 81

He came out at 12/56 and TC at 16/49. He eventually settled at 40/40. His Acc didn't really work out but his SR was at the high end of the scout estimate. Below is what his bars are right now.

He has decent red bars for a 40 rated guy. But, ideally, I'd like to see higher SR and Acc and sacrifice some timing and long/deep pass. An added bonus would've been high Short Pass, but then he wouldn't have been rated 40.

Hell of a performance by Poston indeed. We came out flat, probably still tired from a double overtime wild card weekend. We stayed flat, too. Good luck the rest of the way, Rip.

We'll consider this playoff appearance a positive given our terrible start and our bad defense. Lots to work on in the offseason.

Ugh. Should've declined the penalty and tried a 46 yarder. Man, do I get some heart-breakers in the playoffs. gg Marv.
