Reminder on FA contract caps:
you can offer:
1 yr max $2mil
2 yr max $4mil
Anything 3 years or more is open/fair game.
First chance for teams to unwrap some of those FA presents left under their trees. A few teams get coal in their stockings due to disallowed contracts. Remember the caps are for all FA including UFA's that may still show on your own team's roster page. I know I initially made an illegal offer the first go around for this SIM and had to start my export over because it's so easy to hit one of your "own" guys for a 2 year deal. Just remember, tack on a 3rd yr and make it legit.
