game day sim includes Free agent signings and releases?

Just wondering what happens on the game day sim (other than the game sim :oops: ) ----- Do FA signings and releases and trades? all occur before the games are simmed or do they happen after or at all? If I need to pick up a FA player who I would want starting (sad, I know) ---- Is the only way to have it done as a midweek?

FA signings happen on game day, but the AI will take control of your entire roster if you do so and it puts you over 46 active. If you're looking to have a FA start, your best bet is to sign him in midweek, unless you're ok with all of the other AI-recommended starters.
