Roderick Sikkenga was his usual, effective preseason self. Brent Patten was asked to come in and sling it, throwing 31 attempts, all in the second half. Wade Morton notches his second outstanding preseason performance with 7 catches for 92 yards (9 targets). Might really have something with that guy.

No new injuries and most of the vets have the rust off, but A.J. Hassett will play. All the QBs are looking ready to go, so rookie 7th round pick Walt Johnson will start and play the whole game. Nate Small will back him up, in what could be the last game in a Dakota uniform for the man who set the franchise record for passing yards in a game.

Weird....I seem to have done a lot better job of knocking off rust by playing starters 100% in Game 1, than I ever have with giving them pieces of time here and there.

QB Boone, WR Fletcher, WR Foley, C Wells, T Keisel, K Parrish, all with 0 rust. Didn't happen to everyone I tried playing fulltime and then sitting, but this is a nice surprise. Gonna have to go with this plan going forward.

Oh hehe, I didn't know that! I thought I would've needed more than one game for those guys. I'm usually OK with anything other than extreme rust for Game 1 anyway, since it'll just get knocked right off.

funny i played frodo 100 in game 1 threw a lot 40ish and still he has "some" rust

yeah, I got plenty of "significants" and "some"s too. Maybe some dice rolls in there, given that Frodo & Boone are both QBs and endurance should not have been an issue. I didn't throw a lot either.
