    Utah at Washington

Things don't get much easier when the Bees travel to Washington this week. If we don't fix our defense in a hurry, we're in trouble.

With top safety Wally Burgess out, we're going to go cohesion-on-cohesion and bring back Chester Foster at the starting FS spot. Morris at NB?.....hm, we'll have to think about that one.

Also a little troublesome is the "moderate risk" knee bursitis injury to our center. Is that moderate risk as in torn ACL risk? I don't know, but I'm not going to find out. RT Geoff Keisel looks like the top candidate to start at C instead, although we'll have to decide if he can be spared...

    GL Jughead.

Rematch vs Brooklyn, who beat us last year, scoring the go ahead TD with less than 2:00 left. At that point, I had thought I had a potential playoff team, so I was pretty pissed. Especially since Boston had beaten us in OT the week before.

    REVENGE!!!!!!

If I only have 1 TE active due to injury will it screw things up if I have my FB play 2nd TE (ie will HAL sign a player/cut a player?)

Yeah, it seems like you need at least 2 nominal TEs healthy and active to field a legal roster.

I opened up the play book this week. After getting spanked by Camden, we needed to make some changes. Money delivered in a big way, might have had the best game of his career

Great, after a big kick in the nuts from Charlotte, the Bees come to town. We're both coming off tough losses, and suffering some key injuries, so it's a real toss-up & gut check in one. All I know is if Austin has to throw 51 times again, we will lose. Can't get behind early, and have to establish some run. The usual goals.

Wow, good game Jughead. We pull out the win, but it's marred by an astounding number of miscues, mainly on offense. 4 Utah turnovers, and 14 penalties for 197 yards (seriously, when is this going to stop? Utah has been top 3 in both penalties and yards for each of the past three seasons, and we're right now #1 in both categories.)

A pretty lousy effort from the passing game, although it did just enough work to keep the chains moving, aided by a very steady ground attack. The defense shut down Washington completely, and they really helped us pull this one out. Tito Webb - 2 catches on 10 targets.

I had meant to go to a heavy base D for Washington's ground game but forgot. Luckily, with Easton manning the nickel spot, we seem to have been OK anyway.

Redemption for the defense this week; back to the drawing board for the offense. Some nice work from our RBs and TEs in the passing game, though. And Ryan Green is looking like a highly serviceable RB2. We're also going to pump up the carries to our FB. Duran has 34 career attempts for 283 yards, an 8.32 average. Time to start giving him the ball.

Blech. Blanked. Spent almost the entire 2nd half with the D being familiar with my passing plays. Barely got the ball in my best players hands. I think we had the ball in Yuma's territory all of once.

                      GG Julio.

Well, our defense showed up, but we suffered a couple injuries that'll slow us down, especially Jerome Howe out for this week at least.

The evil McBriar showed up for most of the game, turning the ball over three times. I swear this guy probably has more turnovers than some teams so far. However, he made up for it by throwing a 92 yard TD to Donaghy in the 4th quarter. Donaghy also made up for a pedestrian performance up to that point.

Ralph Bell, who we never should have cut, managed to get 6 targets and 5 catches in a reserve role. I'm glad I picked him up.

Huge challenge coming up in the form of Gainesville next week.

the phantoms came in banged up and on teh 1st play og the game throw a 46 yard bomb. kept us to under 3 yards per rush. our running game was very manic 11 yd gain stopped for no gain, we stayed comitted rushing 49 times vs 25 passes.

frodo was ok not great but ok 1 td 1 bit of a letdown from last week, but a win is a win.

with their d banged up they held up well seems like our d will win (or lose) the day kept them off the field Portland was 4/14 on 3rd downs, TOP Us 37 them 22 and
