  • Week 5 Pregame/Game Discussion

Washington travels to New Orleans. Good news is, we're getting healthier, returning a key backup on the OL. I'm going to keep Riddick Gibbs on the bench; DL has been doing well, and his risk is still moderate.

Since I took over this team, we've played New Orleans 5 times - all on their home turf, and all wins for us. We, like 99% of the rest of the world, like to travel to New Orleans.

That being said, we're still trying to get our legs underneath us. Not a lot of confidence here, but we *could* certainly score the win here. Just have to play like we can. gl to the 'rays.

Utah travels to Motor City for another Randy Boone / Mickey Baines showdown, the third of their respective careers -- which, by their draft status, are inextricably linked.

Utah has won the previous two contests, although they were close ones. Mickey is coming off the best season of his career and showing no signs of slowing down for the 3-0 Mechanics.

Looks like the Mechanics have a hole in their DL that could use repairing. Hopefully the Bees will leverage that into another strong performance for one of the league's top rush attacks, five years running.

Oh oops! I hadn't downloaded the latest file yet, since we'd been on bye. Yes sir, the soon-to-be 4-1 Mechanics .

        I hope.

GL. We'll try to come up with something different to change our bad run against you. We're gonna need a big game from Fletcher and our defense to stand a chance today

Need help scoring, so I changed things up a bit this week.. Didn't help that my depth got messed up last week, so I'm not quite sure if it was my personnel or gameplanning that was at fault. No harm, no foul.

the end of our 4 game road trip that really wasnt that bad as 3 out of the 4 were on the west coast.

a tough game vs the Monsters awaits us these games are always tough not looking forward to it moreso because Marcus Martin still hasent played this season with his turf toe injury we really needed him this week. put him inactive hopeully he will go from doubtfull to questionable.

gg Clay, another tight one. We loaded up on our base set today, hoping to corral Joseph Jenkins...which we did, but at the heavy cost of letting Mickey Baines have his way with us. Hard to say if it was the right call or not. We did pull out the W in the end, but barely

MTC's defense did a great job with the bend-but-don't break. Either that or the Utah offense is incredibly endzone-averse: two trips inside the MTC10 ended in FGs, and another in a lost fumble.

Happy with the win; MTC is not easy at all to stop.

Force 4 fumbles but only get 1. Just one more could have swung it. Still overachieving at 4-1.

Tubbs, Tubbs, Tubbs... 4 ints, seriously?

I had a look over your team Jake. All I got to say is, in the not so distant future, UT OH! You guys look solid into the future man.

Yeah, our lack of 'finish' is frustrating! Another lost fumble could have done us in. The one we did lose was about about the 5-yard line.

We're not going to win any awards for making things look pretty, but we're winning games.

                              GG Matt. That was ugly.
