Pulled a rabbit out of a hat at the end of this weeks game, down 4 with just over a minute to go, Albert Garner threw a couple quick strikes to put us right back on top to stay. Hell of a finish.

The South Maryland offensive line deserves some kudos though. They're protecting the hell out of that QB.

      Power Rankings and Game Stats

Is there a reason that no one is posting game stats or power rankings this year?

I think it's that it was hosted by Ben and we didn't raise funds for the second year [hey, I tried asking him where to send some $, but he never got back to me...]. And also that we don't have the code itself that runs it, but I could be wrong on that one.

Not the biggest deal as the in-game league html is online at those links Brad gives us (it's more than just box and logs). Hopefully enough to tide us over until an alternative can be found. vNFL's code is pretty nice looking.

When in the f--- was that ever offered? Dammit. Our database was screwed up for quite a while, but not having one really sucks. Glad I sent him money for one year's support of a half broken database. Money well spent.

Yeah, he didn't come asking and he didn't reply when I sought him out at FOFC and offered. As Ben would say though, *shurg* :P

It wasn't support so much as the hosting on his VPS or whatever it was. Which I don't even think is necessary. If we had Ben's code [or any alternatives, such as the vNFL stuff] I'm sure the SGN servers could handle it. GEFL I think does that -- Ben's code, their own hosting.

What did you guys use most of the database when we had it? I'm still toying around with creating my own setup, but it'd help to know what the most 'core' functions were. I never really used the HTML stuff even when we had it.

Not really working too well there either. Player ratings on the homepage are about 12 months out of date and won't update. Ben blames Yoda, Yoda thinks it's Ben's problem. I don't think Ben offers help for any of these 'customers' any longer

Yeah. The whole system is just pretty painful to do, with the ratings...first of all because Extractor takes forever to run. But also because the steps after that in Ben's system are pretty insane! with nicknames, duplicate names, and so on. Just a huge hassle.

But at least in terms of server load, it seems manageable.

I'd mostly look at the in season leaders categories, draft history, the Postosties awards. Player cards. My team pages and other team pages.

I liked the player rankings, pro bowl, all-pro teams, stuff like that. The head-to-head history is cool, too.
