    gg marvelous.

Utah pass offense still can't get going, although I suppose running twice as much will do that to your passing production. Couldn't score points on a stout Denver D...but what a job by the Utah defense, once again. Pinson found Grant Liening for a 45-yard bomb at the end of the third...and that's what put him in positive yardage territory.

He finished the day 8/26 for 98 yards, with 31 lost on 4 sacks. Apart from a broken 69-yard TD run by Denver's backup tailback, the Grizzlies couldn't really do anything.

The bad news is Bryan Sidharta is now done for the year with a 16-week elbow injury. Unless it turns out we have some gems in the bullpen, that could really just close the door on another bowl run.

Wow. 4 interceptions from both teams. 3 fumbles 0 lost for Dakota, 2 fumbles 2 lost for Morgantown. an 85 yard TD return on a kickoff for Morgantown.

Grant Giefeke, my first draft pick ever, played like he used to for me except on crack: dropping balls and failing to bring in catches. He failed to notch a catch on his first TEN targets (all of which were in the first half) and finished with (WAIT FOR IT.....)

1 catch for 18 yards on 17 targets.

I may have to rein in McBriar a little against stout defenses, because 4 interceptions isn't cool. Donaghy and Duckworth both had good games (despite another fumble by Duckworth and a poor start) and we improve to 6-0 with a 41-17 victory.

Also notable was a big game from A.J. Hassett, who notched a sack, 7 hurries and 5 batted passes. J.J. Watt anyone?

Oh, and we're last in the league in turnovers but 15th in turnover margin. How's that for luckboxing?

We managed to overcome a weak game offensively with continued strong defensive play. Our pass rush and suddenly strong secondary have given us a much better chance to make hay this season, to the point where even bad offensive games can end up in victory.

          GG Boston.

Bad game for us and another loss at home...

Too many mistakes impossible to overcome and J.B. Erickson played his worst game of the season... 3 Drops in key moments, 1 interception throwed in his way... I´ll relevate him for the starting line-up at this moment, sorry guy, this team want to be a great one and you are a bust...

Finally ran the ball like I've wanted and it paid off. Defense managed to do their job also for a change. Now if we can just do it again.

                    Well, that gameplan was crap.

Seemed like you were trying to throw deep a hell of a lot, so I'm not surprised. I tried that early on in my bowl season with average receivers (One named...GRANT GIEFEKE.) with Parrish and the interceptions flew. Then, I scaled things back and the interceptions continued to fly. I have no idea what was going on with my offense that year. Probably just bad dice rolls after the first 4-5 weeks when I went back to what I was doing the previous year...

Yeah, I wasn't supposed to pass that deep that often. My line isn't designed for that sort of thing. I wonder where I messed that up. Ah well.

I've never actually had a receiver have as bad a day as Giefeke did, which is a shame as he was having a pretty decent season before the bottom dropped out.

He's had his moments with the Totems, but he seemed to drop the ball FAR too much for a guy with one of the higher 'avoid drops' I ever had. His other trick was to get a bunch of targets and put up only 4-5 catches. (I guess bad RR? I think his was average back before he aged.)

All that said, he stepped up when Donaghy got hurt in my bowl year so he's at least got that going for him. :) Plus, I think I had him double covered all day vs you since your other WR didn't look as threatening.

Bah. Washington had their way with us, but the officials in the 1st quarter and our Red Zone offense early (ie two turnovers) set the tone for a big L.
