  • Week 8 Pregame Discussion

We've been blessed for years on the injury front with our star WRs, but that run of luck has come to an end. We lost Colin Fletcher for this??!

Fortunately, we've been preparing for this moment, and a lot of faith in the depths of our arsenal. Hunter Vandersommen will get welcomed back to his starting spot, and recent 2nd round pick Ray Mansker will really get his shot at the big time.

And of course, we still have The Mad Haddix, a pleasant surprise, and Wade Morton, the rookie wonder-child who tore it up in the preseason, ready to step in.

We'll see if it's addition by subtraction, as Randy gets some more familiar faces on the field and maybe turns a positive TD/INT ratio for the year. 3 TD, 4 INT so far, sheesh, who does he think he is, Frodo?

Defensively, the nation's #1 rated pass defense -- a pleasant turnaround, since it was only a few weeks ago that Pearl Harbor was completing passes at will on these guys -- look to barge into Paul Covington's house and add him to the QB graveyard collection.

Against that line though, pressures are NOT going to come easily. 99/99-rated offensive tackle, oh my goodness!

Dakota will try to make it 7-0 as we go to Charlotte. We lead the league in offensive turnovers but fortunately our defense has been creating a ton of them too so we're still dead even on them overall.

To beat Charlotte we're going to have to shut down their star RB, Pasricha, and their star receiver: Schwartz. Fortunately, I have Cris Hutchins my second year shutdown corner for that.

Provided we stop those two, we still have to stop the 80 million dollar man, TE D. Bullock, who got even more money than I was offering from Charlotte.

If we can keep it under 3-4 turnovers this week I think we can do it.

I just checked out what happened, tough break. He was on similar pace for you as he was in my seasons so you should be able to replace him

We face off against Anchorage today. They're looking quite solid and I think we're in for a tough fight. My defense needs to step up and we'll be looking for a big contribution from whichever QB I decide to play

Man do I wish the offense would gel like the defense.

          Calvin Mikeska - 2.5 sacks, 1 block, 6 hurries, 5 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles, 5 tackles. That's amazing.

          Rickey Gaither - for the half-season, 6 INTs, 7 defenses, only 9 catches - 98 PD rating.

Austin was lame again. We've won the last two with him, but he still may get pulled.

          gg Memphis.

I was considering making a run at Austin but I only did it half heartedly since there was a conflict. Fortunately, things worked out and I ended up trading for a QB anyway.

Despite all McBriar's turnovers he's a better option than someone like Nate Small or Justin Zandofsky.

Two key turnovers, no pass rush, no win. Tough week for Yuma. Also lost our best performing DB for a few weeks.

A lot to like about this win. Looks very similar to the 2012 49ers, efficient short passing, multiple backs causing damage and a solid defense.

McGinn went 14/17 with 2 drops. Can't ask for any better against a good Anchorage team. Lynch finally got enough carries to put on some big numbers. He's surprised me with how good he's developed
