  • Fresh legs!!

    Hi fellas!!

    We love the rookies and we can see that with a simply look at the stats!! What are you think about that 6 teams have their rookies RBs with most carries??

    W. Duckworth (Dakota) Rd 1 Pick 3
    E. Jaax (Port City) Rd 1 Pick 11
    B. O'Neal (Kalispel) Rd 1 Pick 16
    A. Hudson (Sant Paul) Rd 2 Pick 13
    L. Davison (Yuma) Rd 4 Pick 11
    K. Giles (Ohio Valley) Rd 4 Pick 26
    Miami Sharks (BLB)
    * BLB Champions --> 2017, 2020.

    Ohio River Sharks (OSFL)
    * OSFL Bowl CHAMPION > 2036, 2047.

    Duckworth actually converts to Flanker at 94% and I played with the idea of switching him. He has around 58 GD and 64 BPR. He's such a crazy good running back I am loathe to switch him though.

    Besides, my QB isn't exactly the kind of guy I want throwing 40 times per game either.

      Yeah, I've kinda fallen away from the RB-WR switch thing. Especially if you need a RB. I (foolishly) cling to the idea that one can have success with a Marshall Faulk type.

      See Tirman, Doughhead - http://www.younglifenorthdekalb.com/...playerid=24131

      Never great, and I thought about the WR move, ~75ish BPR - but I'm kinda proud of those all-purpose and yard from scrimmage lists.

        Oh, and don't forget Bergendahl (Punx). MONSTER.

          Man once they get into the mid 70s with BPR it'd be hard for me to resist, provided a few other bars are there.

          Bergendahl's not bad either, but Duckworth is the only RB I'd spend a high pick on in this draft. Later in the 1st I might have looked at the other guys.

            I stopped him in our two divisional games but I think the next year will be different...

              Yeah, I don't have any legs of the fresh variety, not of the quality described here. Giang is old and fumbles like a mofo. Also, oh yeah, he hates me and won't re-sign.

              A lot of other good (fairly) young backs, like the two on NLB (odd situation there), MTC's guy, and MOR's Roger Salinger. WAS and CLB both have some quality, but a small step down guys, who are high endurance and they ride 'em.

              Running game doesn't get enough respect in this game. I see too many teams struggle and then go over to their roster screen and see them running the ball 20 times a game and throwing it all the time. Surefire way for even the best passing teams to kill their throwing efficiency.

                Same problem for me the next year I think with Walter Andrews... He simply demands $25 Millions in his second year of the contract if I give him a long term extension... And I can afford that until I can clean all the finances disaster that this team have before I can grab it!! Therefore IŽll franchise him again the next season and in one write I can see that signing franchise tender in one player two years set you on "teams that I hate" in his memory!! So... This will be a problem...

                  Oh man, don't franchise him again. Get the deal done now, whatever it takes. Worry about next year's cap hit later, because he'll only be year 10, and at his level, he could be playing QB for 6 more years for you. That's a really long time...and franchising him forever is going to really hurt, cap wise, and also if he holds out.

                  There will be plenty of guys you can renegotiate/cap-out/release/trade or whatever to clear room for your QB.

                  He still likes you currently, and is willing to resign. Gotta get it done before bowl week. This is one piece of talent on your team you want to hold on to, because who knows when you can get a QB like that again.

                  [Giang *actually* won't resign with me. I can hit 'submit offer' on the contract screen but all I get is a 'Past Injustices' message.]

                    Wow I donŽt know that one QB can play at that level for so long... I expected 2 or 3 more years and be a big cap eater... But Patrick Loucks still playing great football at WACO since transfer from Ohio Valley... IŽll re-sign him in the next Sim but... Can I do that despite heŽs on the IR??

                      Well, he could drop plenty in ratings and still be a stud QB. And he can drop even more and still play quality football (possibly). Plus, keep in mind he will give you the kind of monster cohesion Columbus is currently enjoying.

                      He seems like the kinda guy you want to keep around for a career. You can re-sign guys on IR -- I did that with WR Sidharta this year. I'd squeeze out every last bit of available cap space this year to do it, and lessen next year's cap number. Remember you can offer quite a bit less than what they are asking for, especially if you up the first year salary, or bonus.

                      In this case, stud QB and all, I'd increase the bonus by several million and then throw him an offer that's about 75% or under of his overall asking price.
