Boy, sloppy is the word... those seven turnovers, 11 sacks, 11 penalties (9 on Portland). Fortunately for us, they got sloppy first. The early turnovers forced Portland to go one-dimensional. If not for a fumble return TD on their part, think it would've gotten uglier.

We don't have *a* running back at the moment, but the committee did a very nice job. 35 for 161 yards and the game-clinching TD.

Gene Sante comes up with a tidy 99.9 rating, 7/9 on 3rd downs, 6 conversions. Was sacked 4 times, and fumbled twice - that's what we have to worry about. But the passing game, as long as he's protected, looks strong.

gg Ryan. See ya in week 10.

Oh, and that PHO-UTA box score is unreal. Frodo with 5 turnovers, punt return TD, kickoff return TD, 2 fumble return TDs...

        GG South Maryland

Our streak of opening day wins comes to an end at 9.

Willie "Big Shoes" Bartoszek shows that in at least one regard he may be Burt Newman's worthy successor, unfortunately for us that regard would be fumbles. His back to back fumbles in the 3rd quarter lead to 14 of S. Maryland's 17 points.

Of course those two fumbles were bracketed by an interception and a blocked field goal also which together helped push what was a closely fought defensive game in the first half completely out of reach for us.

Got a feeling this is gonna be a long season in Camden.

I was going to add, pretty sweet what Matthew O'Donnell did in his first game as Utah's 3-4 WLB in succession of Carlos Melnick, but Columbus's 2nd-year Renaldo Schulte just had 3 sacks, 9 hurries, and 4 knockdowns in one game.

We won? We were supposed to go 0-16 this season. These rebuilds never go the way I expect. Watch me make the playoffs.

            GG Tom.

Obviously Cary Money is a conservative and feels the people who don't receive balls need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps!

Receiving balls still sounds like a liberal

Cary Money feels that everybody should receive his balls.
