  • SIM COMPLETE - WEEK 7

Almost midway through the season - time to start separating the pretenders from the contenders.

FYI, after we're out of the first season, I'm planning on upgrading some of the online visual aspects of the league. Colors, enhanced HTML, hopefully some kind of player pictures....I'm seeing what's out there and what we can use. I know things are a little bland right now as far as the online implementation goes, but bear with me (us) and things will improve. Please PM or post here if you have any suggestions, ideas, or know of any utilities we can use to make things look better.

Sounds great Skerik. I don't have any sweet ideas, just wanted to give a shout out.

        Oh wow, my team won!

Malcolm Coles showed some composure out there, 19/21, 268 yards, and 2 TDs.

Wow, nothing like losing the game, and losing your star QB for 14 fucking weeks with a High Ankle Sprain.

WTF? A high ankle sprain? Bullshit. Fuck this game. :x

Well we lost our 2nd game. A 67'ish TD pass under 1 minute left to tie was called back for a phantom holding call.
Still not a bad start to my first season of FoF

I really got bailed out by that holding call. Time to figure out how my prevent defense, protecting a 7-point lead, gets beat over the top for 67 yards....

              Good game, Sky.

Totems win and move to 6-1. Once again, terrible on offense, but my D saves the day with 4 sacks and 3 forced turnovers. My D is allowing just under 6 points per game. Also, we haven't allowed a TD since WEEK 1, awesome.

If you guys want to watch one of the most exciting games you will probably see all season, watch the Portland vs. Charlotte game on solevision.

                  Wow. What a finish.

So, when setting deep passes to Never for every single scenario, I still throw nothing but deep passes in the final 5 minutes. It seems completely random, and what I set my team to do has absolutely no effect on the actual game. It's getting old watching my QB drop back for deep pass, ball incomplete, defense looked familiar with that play.

Add to my 4th straight game of being picked off in the endzone.

Yep... Doesn't matter if it's 7-6 with 10 minutes left, your QB will just start bombing it EVERY SINGLE PLAY no matter what the settings.

Really horrible AI, but it doesn't matter to me since I'm always down 20 in the 4th anyways.

                        From FOF help....

The setting for using the adjustments until a certain number of minutes remains in the game affects the adjustments only to your run and pass modifications. Until X minutes have elapsed, the game uses your settings for a tied game. This means you won't necessarily abandon your game plan if your opponent gets a couple of quick scores early. This setting does not affect your Go 4th Down settings.
So if you don't want your gameplan abandoned, you could make that setting 60 minutes and then it would use your situational modifiers for the entire 60 minutes.

Holy crap what a game. Definitely game of the week. On the final drive I completed a 4th and 12 for a first down with 2 minutes left. Work the ball down to the 1 yard line with 1st and goal. Penalty sets me back 5 yds. 4th and goal with 19 seconds in the game I throw a TD pass to win 27-24. I swear I was sweating on the final drive.
