  • 2030 Franchise/Summer

I know it's just for shits and giggles, but it feels like tradition to list your tag and summer choices

    Franchise: None
    Summer: WR Trent Cerf

Christen looks like a sure thing, Cerf could use a boost, so he's going
Owner of the Drunken, Fightin' Irish.
--We trade with Utah just for the dead puppies
    --Lifetime record (from 2021 to 2032): 124-68 --

    Franchise: CB Ricky Liliedahl

    Summer: WR Paul Famie

Risking the injury on Famie as I need him to step up. Liliedahl is getting tagged because I didn't have the cap to resign him last season.

Tag: DT Bubba Humphrey. It's going to suck, but we got him on the 1-year deal knowing we'd have to do this.

Summer: I really don't know where to go with this one. QB Scott Syron seems like an early leading candidate, because while he's somewhat unlikely to stick around for too long, he also will have very few chances to develop otherwise. CB Dawkins seems like the best trade-off between someone we really want to get ready for next year and at the same time would be OK if he got hurt. WR Collier's another guy who could really use the development time he won't get in-season.

      [edit: went with Collier.]

Last year's 3rd round pick QB Brian Douglas will be getting the summer tag.

This will be the first season in about five seasons where Franchise Montgomery doesn't get franchised. We'll probably franchise no one this season.

          Last year we summer'd Rowland.

Franchise ---》DE Omar O'Neal, no doubts here I will use the Franchise Tag on him and re-sign after the TC when he drops due age to save some money. Last year I don't resign him for that cause

Summer League --》QB Leroy Chustz, the former 3rd Pick don't get nothing from us last year. So I want to see his development during this off-season and more important his un-masking. We need to find the right signal caller cause McBriar can't will save us again this year. Then Chustz vs Gordon in TC and Pre-season and with near all our Draft Picks next year, we could step back and go into transition mode with a great defense.

            Go Sharks!!

tom, you have all of Early FA (FA1-1 to FA1-12) to make offers to your restricted free agents, during which time nobody else can offer them. No restrictions on what you can offer.

After that, they will go into the unrestricted pool during Late FA (FA2-1 to FA2-5) and everyone can offer them. If you re-sign them at that time however, you don't lose cohesion.

After TC I believe they are effectively no longer on your team and signing them again means cohesion resets.

Only players coming off their rookie to 3rd seasons are eligible for restricted free agency. This means if their contract is up, you get exclusive rights to re-sign them, if you want. For players year 4 and up, if you give them a 1-year deal, you'll never be able to re-sign them. Take that in mind when you offer year 4+ RFAs.

              Blasphemer!

Shark, summer league is a development boost only, I don't believe any unmasking occurs.

Thanks man, anyway as soon as he reach his Top Level I can see his real attributes 17/55 at this Time... Maybe he can reach the 25 after the TC and around 32 or so to enter the Pre-Season and compete with Gordon... Any other current ratio could be indicator that he can´t reach the 50 in his entire career....

Yeah could not get my RB to resign but really don't want to franchise him.

If Montgomery holds he'll make a fine addition to someone else's team. Provided he's still motivated to play since he's probably the highest paid linebacker in history who didn't break 50 in ratings.

Summer: Tyrone Fitzgerald. Got hurt in preseason last year, IR'd and missed his rookie year. He's got some catching up to do if he's gonna figure in at DE this year.

Franchise: Casey Baumgartner. No, really. He refused to resign with us last year due to "past injustices" after I low-balled him during his pre-camp hold out. So now I'm gonna tag him and bury him down our depth chart. That'll show him! (besides, I gotta do something with all this left over cap space)

QB Heavy in MTC this year.

TAG: Micky Baines. My dumbass didn't have the right version of the game this whole time... no wonder no one ever took my offers. Baines will have to take the Tag instead of the 3 year deal I wanted to give him.

SUMMER: Brant Harvey. Kind of liked him in the draft, but wasn't sure. Gambled on him and he looks (on paper) to be a possible player. Going to see how he responds to Summer School to gauge his chances of keeping this job in the Post-Baines era.

In case anyone was curious Franchise Montgomery would've broken the $20 million mark this year if I franchised him again. It would've been glorious.
