Man did we get hit by retirements.

WR Vinny Ireson (14) - expected. Started the stretch and the playoffs, and helped us a lot.

TE Mario Bradford (10) - oh well. Was about time. Had given way to Edwin Blades as the starter.

ILB Troy Conant (10) - was really about time, but a solid WILB for us.

S/ILB Dan Harper (9) - This one hurts. What the hell, Dan.

WLB Matthew O'Donnell (10) - Another starting LB? Matty turned in four outstanding seasons as Utah's WLB, each one bette than the last in PRT. Finishes with 79.5 career sacks (all but 4 in Utah; 3rd all time for the Bees) and now passes the torch to Ike Arias, who's looking like a sorta mini-Carlos Melnick. He out-sacked Melnick, who had 5.5 years starting, and finished second in team history in PR% behind Carlos.

3rd on that list is the now 6th-year Arias, who already has 44.5 sacks to his name.

No retirements for us, so if Herb Newman holds value we might be able to contend again.

One of my misguided first round picks OLB Derrick Schwartz hung it up after going on to disappoint other owners.

The 2 players I expected to retire hang on for another year.

RB Kinney has 1 year left on his contract, while DE Carraher is currently a FA, but I may just slap the Franchise Tag on him, as I'd like to see him retire as a Gael.

I shouldn't have let Poe go. He played more seasons for you than I expected. Those pass coverage skills were great for a backup.
