  • Question about resigning players .......

Looking at my guys whose contract ends in 2006. When I click on "negotiate salary" is this where I submit an offer to them. Or is this if I want to change their salary in the middle of the season for some reason ????

Also, I was looking at the avg salaries for guys in the top 20, top 5 etc at that position. I guess I am looking for some tips. If my guy wants what the avg is for his position, I am assuming that it is better not to low ball him ?

Negotiate Salary is where you'll see what they want to resign with the team. Lowballing can upset some players. I generally start half way and work my way up. I can usually get them to sign for something less than they want. In the DFL, a lot of the teams got into major cap problems from outrageous salary demands that were met strangely enough. So, salary negotiations can be a league wide impact.

Thanks. If you offer them half at first, do they counter back sometimes ?

Ah, the beauty of non-guaranteed contracts!

doh. Wouldn't be an issue for me if he wasn't a red flagger. Maybe I will hire some one to go ruff him up and force him to sign.
